Gianco
adding in Florida. Tampa, Florida-based Gianco Companies plans to demolish an 11-story hotel
building in St. Petersburg, Florida, that was damaged during Hurricane
Milton in 2024 and turn it into a 73-key hotel, according to the Tampa Bay
Times. Gianco acquired the hotel in 2017.
Hard Rock
opens first in Canada. Orlando-based Hard Rock International is partnering with Fishers,
Indiana-based Dora Hotel Co. to open its first hotel in Canada with the
164-key Hard Rock Hotel London, Ontario. Hard Rock International has over
300 owned or licensed hotels, casinos or other venues in nearly 80 countries.
Dreamscape
adds 22 in first year. Dallas-based management company Dreamscape Hospitality has added 22
hotels to its portfolio in its first year under 13 brands from Hilton,
Marriott, Hyatt and IHG from a wide variety of hotel owners. Dreamscape also
has an additional 40 properties in the pipeline expected to transition within
the next 9 to 12 months.
Tryst
adds in Fire Island. Tryst Hospitality is debuting 30-key The Tryst Fire Island, a reimagination of
the former Botel in Fire Island, New York. The hotel will be part of The
Waterfront at The Pines, previously known as the commercial district. The hotel
has undergone major renovations and will reopen later this year.
Minor
adds first Avani in India. Minor Hotels is adding its first Avani Hotels & Resorts brand in
India with the Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort in Visakhapatnam,
India. The hotel will feature 117 rooms and 58 branded residential villas and
is scheduled to be completed in 2028. Minor is accelerating its expansion
strategy in India, targeting 50 new openings in the country over the next
decade.
Mirararth
acquires in Japan. Mirararth Real Estate Advisory, the asset management company of
Toyko-based Takara Leben Real Estate Investment Corp., has acquired 194-key
Spring Sunny Hotel Nagoya Tokoname Station from Japan-based Sun Frontier Hotel
Management Inc. for JPY2.2 billion, according to HVS. The brand Spring Sunny
Hotel is a joint venture of Toyko-based Sun Frontier Fudousan Co. Ltd. and the
Shanghai-based Spring Group.
Palladium
revamps loyalty program. Madrid-based Palladium Hotel Group is revamping its first loyalty
program for professionals with Palladium Pro, a rewards program designed for
travel agents, wedding planners, meeting and event organizers.
