Waldorf
Astoria New York reopening in spring. The 375-key Waldorf Astoria New York is accepting
reservations starting on December 10 for stays in spring 2025. The historic
hotel in Midtown Manhattan has been closed since 2017 and has been undergoing a
multi-year, multi-owner restoration led by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill
and Pierre-Yves Rochon. The hotel is owned by
Beijing-based Dajia Insurance Group (Hilton originally sold it to Anbang
Insurance Group for $1.95 billion in 2014, but that company was dissolved and
liquidated in 2020). The
hotel has had its reopening date pushed back several times.
Amante’s
role in 33-hotel UK deal. Surrey, U.K.-based Amante Capital, KKR’s dedicated European
hospitality platform, will serve as managing partner to the joint venture of
New York City-based KKR and Boston-based Baupost that acquired a 33-hotel
portfolio in the U.K. for £900 million ($1.16 billion) last month from the Abu
Dhabi Investment Authority. The 6,500-key portfolio consists of full-service
Marriotts and Delta by Marriotts in London and Edinburgh,
Glasgow, Leeds and Liverpool. Founded in 2022, Amante Capital invests in hotel
real estate across Europe.
Four
Seasons in Prague sells. Prague-based Czechoslovak Group has acquired the Four Seasons Hotel in
Prague in the Czech Republic from New York City-based Northwood Investors for a
reported CZK 4.7 billion ($195.24 million). The hotel opened in 2001.
NexGen
acquires in Florida. Itasca, Illinois-based NexGen Hotels has acquired the 120-key Fairfield Inn
& Suites by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Northwest in Tamarac, Florida, from an
undisclosed seller for an undisclosed amount. Hollywood, Florida-based AD1
Global will manage the hotel.
Ennismore
adds in KSA. Ennismore is partnering with Alkhobar, United Arab Emirates-based Tilal Real
Estate Co. for a new 25hours Hotel Heart of Khobar in Saudi Arabia. The
property will be part of a new mixed-use development, Heart of Khobar, and will
feature 170 hotel rooms and 80 serviced apartments. Founded in Hamburg in 2006,
25hours Hotels today operates 15 hotels in German-speaking countries as well as
Florence, Italy, Paris, Dubai and Copenhagen, with a pipeline including
upcoming openings in Sydney, Jakarta and Trieste, Italy and Porto, Portugal.
Auberge
adds in Puerto Rico. Mill Valley, California-based Auberge Resorts Collection has been selected to
manage the Moncayo, Auberge Resorts Collection, a new beachfront resort in
Moncayo, Puerto Rico. The 1,100-acre community is being developed by Juniper
Capital and Capital United. The resort will feature 68 suites and 15 villas and
is scheduled to open in 2027.
Accor
adds Novotel in India. Accor is partnering with Crystal Vista Ventures to develop the 275-key
Novotel Agra Fatehabad Road, which will mark the debut of the Novotel brand in
Agra City, India. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2029 near
the Taj Mahal. Novotel has over 590 hotels across 65 countries and a pipeline
of 160-plus properties.
