One&Only coming to Hyde Park. Dubai-based Kerzner International and Miami-based resort
developer Nolan Reynolds International are partnering with the Culinary
Institute of America to bring a One&Only resort to New York’s Hudson
Valley. The property is expected to open in 2028 and will sit on 21 acres
adjacent to the Culinary Institute of America’s campus in Hyde Park. The resort
will have 61 cabins, guestrooms, suites and branded residences. The Hudson
Valley property will join One&Only’s portfolio of 14 resorts and will be
the brand’s second U.S. property.
First
Waldorf standalone residences. Related Group and Merrimac Ventures have partnered with
Hilton to break ground on the 92-key Waldorf Astoria Residences Pompano Beach
in Florida. The development is Waldorf Astoria’s first-ever standalone
residential project and its first in Broward County.
GIC, Samhi deal in India. Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and Gurugram, India-based SAMHI Hotels have entered into a strategic partnership to establish a joint venture to develop upscale and higher hotel assets in India. GIC will acquire a 35% stake in these three subsidiaries for a total investment of 7.52 billion rupees ($88 million). The JV will create a $300 million venture focusing on acquisition and turnaround opportunities in urban hotels. SAMHI’s three units - SAMHI JV Hotels, Ascent Hotels, and Inmar Tourism and Hotel - operate four hotels in Bengaluru and Pune. SAMHI will primarily use the GIC investment to pare down its debt.
Coury
expanding Vin collection. Dallas-based Coury Hospitality is expanding its Vin Hotel Collection,
which will include an expansion of the flagship Hotel Vin in Grapevine, Texas,
as well as the debut of Hotel Vin Pinnacle Hills in Rogers, Arkansas. The
expansion of the Grapevine property will add 120 rooms, while the $72 million
125-key hotel in Rogers is scheduled to open in 2026.
Las Vegas
Sands drops bid for Nassau casino. Las Vegas Sands has withdrawn its planned bid to open a $4
billion casino complex at the site of the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island in New
York. Its decision to drop that bid was over what it said were concerns about
“the impact of the potential legalization of iGaming on the overall market
opportunity and project returns.” Casino companies and developers have
competed in recent years for three casino licenses to be awarded by the state
in and around New York City.
MMI adds
2 in Texas. Jackson,
Mississippi-based MMI Hotel Group has added two Wyndham Hotels & Resorts
properties in Texas to its management portfolio. The properties include the
84-key AmericInn by Wyndham in San Angelo and a dual-branded La Quinta Inn
& Suites by Wyndham Pflugerville and Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham in
Pflugerville. The properties are owned by Texas-based developers Mike Forrest
and Brett Emerson.
Palette
adds in Pennsylvania. Washington, Pennsylvania-based Palette Hotels has added the 140-key DoubleTree
by Hilton Washington Meadow Lands Casino Area in Washington to its management
portfolio. The company also will oversee the hotel’s upcoming
multi-million dollar refurbishment. The hotel is owned by Shreveport,
Louisiana-based Sunrise Gold Hospitality.
Global
Hotel Alliance earnings. Dubai-based Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) has reported strong
first-quarter results for 2025, with continued double-digit gains across all
key metrics. Total hotel stay revenues reached $746 million in Q1, up 15%
year-over-year, while total room nights picked up 12% and ADR across its
portfolio of 850 hotels nudged up 3%. Cross-brand revenue increased by 11% and
the loyalty program added around 850,000 new members in Q1 2025 – an 8% YOY
increase.
Omni
introduces new program. Dallas-based Omni Hotels & Resorts is launching Omni Select
Business, a new business travel program created exclusively for small and
midsize businesses (SMBs) across Omni’s portfolio in the U.S. and Canada. The
new program is designed to provide exclusive savings for SMBs while elevating
the overall business travel experience.
