Dean
Hotel is coming to Miami Beach. An investment vehicle managed by London-based Lifestyle
Hospitality Capital (LHC) Group and backed by funds advised by New York
City-based Elliott Investment Management L.P., has acquired The Gates Hotel
South Beach in Miami. The 235-key hotel will be renovated and rebranded as The
Dean Hotel – Miami Beach. This will be the U.S. flagship hotel of the Dean
Group, which operates other lifestyle hotels such as The Clarence, The Mayson
and The Leinster in Europe.
AJ
Capital Partners acquires. Nashville-based Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners has acquired
the 69-room Atlantic Hotel in Portrush, Northern Ireland, from brothers Larry and
Brendan Duddy Junior for an undisclosed amount. This is the third hotel in the
region for AJ Capital, which operates hotels under its Marine & Lawn
portfolio. The Atlantic Hotel, which has been closed since May, will undergo
renovations to become part of the brand. The Marine & Lawn portfolio now comprises six properties across Northern Ireland, England and Scotland.
A-1 adds
3 with Delta Inn partnership. Kennewick, Washington-based A-1 Hospitality Group has formed
a strategic partnership with Delta Inn Hotel Group, a family-owned portfolio of
hotels led by CEO Scott Kim. It will bring Delta Inn’s leadership team and
three Portland, Oregon, airport hotels into A-1’s portfolio. The three
properties are the 150-key Courtyard by Marriott Portland Airport, the 121-key
Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport and the 104-key Fairfield Inn & Suites
by Marriott Portland Airport. With these additions, A-1 will have 20
hotels across five states.
PIF forms
hotel management company. Riyadh, Saudia Arabia-based Public Investment Fund of Saudi
Arabia (PIF) has launched a new hotel management company called Adeera. The
company “aims to build new world-class Saudi hotel brands and enhance the
capacity of the local sector by launching training and skills development
programs, in cooperation with international hospitality specialists.” The
launch of Adeera follows a series of significant investments by PIF in both the
tourism and real estate sectors, including investments in the hospitality
company Boutique Group, the agri-tourism company Dan, and the tourism
investment company Asfar.
Dream
Hotel in Palm Springs breaks ground. The long-awaited Dream Hotel in Palm Springs, California,
has broken ground. The luxury resort, which will have 155 hotel rooms and 89
condos and townhomes, is scheduled to open in 2027. The project has been in
development since 2007.
Ascott
adds in Tokyo. Tokyo-based Tokyo Tatemono Co. Ltd., Japan’s longest-standing general real
estate company, and The Ascott Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership
to launch SEN/KA TOKYO by The Crest Collection in Tokyo. The 92-key hotel is
scheduled to open in the second half of 2029 and will mark the debut of
Ascott’s luxury brand, The Crest Collection, in Japan and become the 13th
property in the brand’s global portfolio. This is the first collaboration
between Tokyo Tatemono and Ascott.
Meliá
adds to luxury portfolio. Palma, Spain-based Meliá Hotels International said in 2025 it will open 15 luxury hotels across its brands. In 2025, Meliá will open the doors to ME by Meliá hotels in Malta,
Lisbon, Malaga and Marbella. Zel, a lifestyle brand and joint venture with
tennis legend Rafael Nadal, will launch the first lifestyle all-inclusive in
the Caribbean. Meliá has more than 400 hotels open or in its pipeline in more
than 40 countries.
