PE giants refi ESA platform. Through a CMBS offering, Blackstone and Starwood Capital
Group are refinancing $1.94 billion in hotel debt associated with their ESH
Hospitality platform, which operates 220 Extended Stay America hotels in 33
states.
Four Seasons partners in Telluride. After more than seven years working on this project, Four
Seasons Hotels and Resort and development partners Fort Partners and Merrimac
Ventures have announced plans for the Four Seasons Resort and Residences
Telluride, which will feature 52 guestrooms, 43 hotel residences and 26 private
residences. No construction or opening dates have been announced.
White Lodging develops in Texas. Owner-operator White Lodging has acquired a 3.5-acre parcel
in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards in Texas and is exploring plans to
transform the site with a hotel and restaurant. It is also considering
opportunities for larger mixed-use destination amenities. This is White
Lodging’s first project in the Dallas/Fort Worth area since the late 1990s.
Across Texas in Austin and San Antonio, White Lodging has 16 premium brand
hotels and more than 20 independently branded restaurants, bars and rooftops.
In total, White Lodging’s portfolio includes approximately 60 hotels, more than
50 restaurants and bars, and a collection of luxury ranches including the
award-winning Brush Creek Ranch.
Kerzner brand adds Miami. Kerzner International, with local partners 13th Floor
Investments and Forse Holdings, have announced Siro Brickell, Miami, the first
Siro Hotels and branded residences in the U.S. set to open in 2030.
Echo Suites financing. Echo Suites construction loan. The
Sandpiper Group of Companies, a Richmond, Virginia-based developer, has
received a $12.2 million construction loan for a new Echo Suites Extended Stay
by Wyndham development at Chandler Airport Center near Phoenix. Concord Summit
Capital arranged the loan for four-story, 124-room project, marking the second
Echo Suites in Arizona it financed on behalf of The Sandpiper Group of
Companies.
Economy extended-stay resilient.
The 3.9% decline in total extended-stay hotel RevPAR in August was the fifth
consecutive monthly fall and the largest in 2025, according to The Highland
Group. Economy segment extended-stay hotels reported a 1.3% decline in RevPAR
which was far lower than the 5.7% contraction STR/CoStar estimated for all
economy class hotels. It was also a smaller decline than all classes of hotels
except upper upscale and luxury segments which are leading the overall U.S.
hotel industry.
Best Western deal in Europe. BWH Hotels is merging its Southeastern Europe office,
based in Athens, with its Italy & Malta office, based in Milan, creating BWH
Hotels Italy & Southeastern Europe with more than 200 hotels with 14,000
rooms across more than 110 destinations in 15 countries. The Athens and Milan
offices will continue to operate with a joint business plan, focusing on
portfolio expansion, new member services, and strengthening service quality.
The Pig adds COO. KSL Capital Partner-owned The Pig Hotel Group in the U.K.
has hired Peter Hannah for the newly created COO role to work alongside
recently appointed CEO Kevin Styles. Hannah was most recently group operations
director at The Jamie Oliver Group. He also worked at Vue Entertainment, where
Styles worked as group managing director until March 2022.
Hyatt grows in India. Hyatt Hotels Corp. has signed a deal for The Landmark Kanpur
in India, which will become part of the JdV by Hyatt brand. The hotel is owned
by Som Datt Landmark Hotels and Recreations Pvt. Ltd. and is expected to open
in 2026. The hotel will feature 170 rooms, a spa, four food and beverage
outlets, and varied event facilities including a 7,200 square foot lawn on the
21st floor.
IHG training in KSA. IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched Masarona by IHG,
a hotel talent development program for Saudi nationals. The program name means
“Our Pathway” in Arabic. Today, nearly 50% of IHG’s workforce in Saudi Arabia
are Saudi nationals, and IHG said this new program complements its existing
learning and development framework, IHG University, which provides tailored
‘always-on’ content and resources to support hotel colleagues and hotel
leaders.
Accor hones F&B focus. Accor has launched Table For – an in-house food
and beverage group designed to set new standards in culinary experience,
creativity and commercial performance. Its first restaurant, Flaminia, will
open at Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour this summer, with new concepts set to
follow. Table For will unite internal experts across culinary, operations,
design and guest experience, supported by select collaborators. Table For will
support the group’s wider network of owners, developers and franchisees.
