hotel executive moves of the past week.
Commonwealth names new
VP. Covington, Kentucky-based Commonwealth Hotels has
appointed Jon Gustin as vice president of operations. Gustin has over 15 years
in various senior leadership positions and was most recently senior director of
operations for Placemakr. He also worked for Blue Water Development, Dimension
Development, TPG Hotels and Resorts and White Lodging.
Crescent names new
technology exec. Fairfax, Virginia-based
Crescent Hotels & Resorts has appointed Paul Bushman as its new senior vice
president of technology and enterprise solutions. Bushman is a seasoned IT
professional and previously held the role of senior vice president of enterprise
solutions at Aimbridge Hospitality. He also previously worked for Interstate
Hotels & Resorts, MeriStar Hotels & Resorts and CapStar Hotel Company.
Promotions at IHG. Rajit Sukumaran has taken on an expanded role at IHG
Hotels & Resorts as senior vice president and managing director, East Asia
& Pacific, to oversee its growth, performance and reputation in more than
20 countries. Over the past four years, he led IHG’s South East Asia &
Korea (SEAK) business unit. Previously, he oversaw the regional strategy for
IHG’s brand’s growth as a chief development officer in Europe, the Middle East,
Asia & Africa. Additionally, Vivek Bhalla has been promoted to IHG’s
managing director, SEAK, with responsibility for the growth, performance and
operations of its estate of more than 120 hotels across 10 brands and a
pipeline of over 90 properties. Bhalla has been with the company since 2016,
most recently spending four years as vice president of operations at SEAK.
Strategic operations
hire at Trinity. Investor Trinity
Investments has named Rob Tanenbaum as senior vice president of Strategic
Operations, based in Miami, Florida. He was most recently managing director and
head of North American Hotel Asset Management at Starwood Capital Group.
Tanenbaum is now responsible for overseeing the strategic operations of Trinity’s
hotels on the East Coast of the United States, including The Diplomat Beach
Resort Hollywood, EAST Miami and the Grande Lakes Orlando Resort, JW Marriott
& The Ritz-Carlton. He will be joined in Miami by Brittney Lewin, an
associate of Strategic Operations. Samantha Sugarman, senior vice president of
Strategic Operations based in Los Angeles, will continue to oversee Trinity’s
assets in the western half of the U.S. as well as in Mexico.
