Caliber
adding three Hyatt Studios. Scottsdale, Arizona-based Caliber said it is advancing three Hyatt
Studios in Steamboat Springs, Colorado; Riverwalk/Scottsdale, Arizona; and
Georgetown, Texas. The first project in Steamboat Springs closed acquisition
and construction financing in April 2026 and is expected to break ground during
the second quarter of 2026. Steamboat Springs is targeted to open in the third
or fourth quarter of 2027, with the remaining projects following sequentially
thereafter. The Riverwalk/Scottsdale land site is already under Caliber's
control through a long-term lease, which provides significant development and
operational control. The land for the Georgetown transaction (located in the
Austin, Texas corridor) has already been purchased and the transaction closed
in October 2025.
Choice
growth in Canada. Choice Hotels International said it is experiencing continued momentum in
Canada following the company's acquisition last year and transition to a direct
franchising model. Choice's Canadian business delivered its strongest first
quarter in over a decade, with net room growth of 3.4% year-over-year, reaching
its highest first-quarter hotel opening volume since 2010. Additional
highlights include increased revenue over 20% YOY, RevPAR growth of 5.2% YOY
and expanded pipeline rooms by 55% YOY.
Hotel
Equities adds 3. Atlanta-based Hotel Equities has added three select-service properties to its
portfolio: the TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Woodstock, Ontario, which is
owned by KRS Group, opened in March and is the first Marriott-branded property
in the Woodstock area; the Reflections Hotel, Ascend Collection by Choice
Hotels International in Kissimmee, Florida, which scheduled to open in this
fall; and the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas DFW Airport North/Irving in Texas.
Bob W
adds in UK. Bob W
has signed a long-term lease agreement with Bloom Street Hotel Ltd. for a new
83-key aparthotel in Manchester city center, marking a further step in its
expansion across the U.K. and Ireland. The hotel is scheduled to open in the
summer of 2027.
Dalata
CEO stepping down. The CEO and deputy CEO of Ireland's largest hotel group, Dalata Hotel Group,
have announced their intention to step down from their roles later this year.
CEO Dermot Crowley and deputy CEO Shane Casserly will both step down following
Scandinavian property companies Pandox and Eiendomsspar’s €1.4 billion
acquisition of Dalata last year. Dalata operates 56 hotels under the
Maldron Hotel and Clayton Hotel brands, mostly in Ireland and the U.K., and
aims to open new hotels in Europe, including in Berlin and Madrid.
Veeve
adds onefinestay to rental portfolio. Short-term rental management company Veeve has boosted its
portfolio with the addition of 200 homes from onefinestay in London and Paris.
The platform, which is part of UnderTheDoormat Group and offers high-end
properties, expects additional revenues of around £2.3 million a year from
portfolio growth. Veeve takes over management of the homes from Onefinestay,
which has agreed to support the transition, ensuring continuity for homeowners
and guests. Onefinestay plans to expand in high-demand leisure destinations
across Europe, the Caribbean and the U.S. The company was acquired by French
hotel giant Accor in 2016 for €148 million. Last year, luxury travel club
Exclusive Resorts took a controlling stake in onefinestay and later created
Exclusive Collective, combining Exclusive Resorts, Inspirato and onefinestay.
Exclusive Investments, the parent company of Exclusive Resorts, acquired
Inspirato in December 2025 for $59 million.
IHG adds in India. IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a
management agreement with Thanishq Grande Hotels & Resorts to develop
Holiday Inn Sriperumbudur, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2029. IHG
currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India and has a pipeline of
89 hotels due to open over the next three to five years.
