Cain
hires former Six Senses CEO. London-based Cain International has appointed Neil Jacobs as
a consultant to support the growth of its luxury investment platform and provide advice across Cain’s hotels and luxury assets. Cain’s portfolio includes assets in Miami, New York City, London, Beverly Hills, and
Courchevel 1850. The firm has held partnerships and investments with Aman, Delano, Raffles, Six Senses, Soho House, and
Rosewood Hotel Group. Jacobs recently launched Wild
Origins, a full-service creative advisory collective, after serving as CEO of Six Senses for 13 years.
Mohari,
Omnam €280M financing. Cyprus-based Mohari Hospitality and London-based Omnam Investment Group
have closed a €280 million financing package to refinance the
vendor loan and fund the refurbishment of the Bauer Hotel in Venice. A pool of
Italian lenders led the financing transaction. This follows a strategic
restructuring in which Bauer SICAF, a newly formed fixed-income investment
company, has become the hotel’s owner, which enables Mohari and Omnam to
combine their expertise and resources in luxury real estate and hospitality. In
addition to the ownership of Hotel Bauer, Bauer SICAF also now owns the
adjacent Residenza Grunwald in Venice.
Eurostar
acquires in Boston. Eurostars
Hotel Co., the hotel division of Barcelona-based Group Hotusa and a leading
chain in Spain, has acquired the 80-key The Boxer Boston from Hersha Hotels
& Resorts for an undisclosed amount. The hotel was initially built in 1904
and underwent a comprehensive million-dollar renovation in 2013, when it was
relaunched as The Boxer. This is Eurostar’s fifth hotel in the U.S. JLL
facilitated the transaction.
Hilton
opening first Signia in Texas. Hilton is opening its first Signia in Texas with the
conversion of La Cantera Resort & Spa to Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort
& Spa, which will open on October 1. Located in San Antonio overlooking the
Texas Hill Country, the sprawling resort will represent the state’s debut of
Signia by Hilton. The hotel is owned by Austin, Texas-based Ohana Real Estate
Investors and will be managed by Hilton.
First
Westin all-inclusive in Mexico. The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta is rebranding
into an all-inclusive beach resort. Set to be completed by May 2026, the resort
will be rebranded as The Westin Playa Vallarta, an All-Inclusive Resort to
debut as the first Westin all-inclusive in Mexico. The resort features 281
rooms, including 30 private plunge pool suites and 16 swim-up rooms, alongside
10 culinary and entertainment venues.
Sun
acquires in New Mexico. Albuquerque, New Mexico-based Sun Capital Hotels has acquired the
126-key Hyatt Place Albuquerque/Uptown from an institutional seller for an
undisclosed amount. Hunter Hotel Advisors facilitated the transaction. The
property is Sun’s seventh hotel in Albuquerque and its 12th overall.
Nightfood
acquires in California. Tarrytown, New York-based Nightfood Holdings has acquired
Victorville Treasure Holdings, owner of a 155-key Holiday Inn property in
Victorville, California. The $31 million share exchange agreement, signed
and closed as of August 27, represents Nightfood’s first completed hotel
acquisition. A second property is near completion and advancing through SEC
audit milestones. Together, these acquisitions form the foundation of
Nightfood’s AI-driven hospitality platform.
Dreamscape
adds in Arizona. Dallas-based Dreamscape Hospitality is assuming management of The Monarch Hotel
in Scottsdale, Arizona. The hotel is currently undergoing comprehensive
renovations and is set to debut as a JdV by Hyatt property in early 2026.
Choice’s
Everhome expands in US. Everhome Suites, the midscale extended-stay brand from Choice Hotels
International, continues to grow its nationwide footprint with the opening of
seven new properties across the United States. Choice Hotels now has 17
Everhome Suites open, 16 under construction, and 45 in its pipeline. The brand
is on track to have nearly 25 hotels open by the end of the year. The company
has opened Everhomes Suites in Bozeman, Montana; Ontario and San Bernardino,
California; Yuma, Arizona; Newington, New Hampshire; Rochester, New York; and
Somerset, New Jersey.
INV
acquires 10 hotels in Japan. Japan-based REIT Invincible Investment Corp. (INV) has
acquired 10 hotels for JPY34.3 billion from six Japan-based sellers, which are
affiliates of New York City-based Fortress Investment Group LLC, according to
HVS. The hotels are the 154-key Irago Ocean Resort for JPY6.9 billion; the
188-key Kirishima Kokusai Hotel for JPY6.5 billion; the 68-key Kamenoi Hotel
Toba for JPY4.7 billion; the 80-key Kamenoi Hotel Kusatsu Yubatake for JPY4.7
billion; the 75-key Atagawa Ocean Resort for JPY4.2 billion; the 180-key Hotel
MyStays Atsugi for JPY3.2 billion; the 61-key Kamenoi Hotel Tsukubasan for JPY3
billion; the 52-key Kamenoi Hotel Kochi for JPY446 million; the 45-key Kamenoi
Hotel Chitamihama for JPY372 million and the 40-key Kamenoi Hotel Yanagawa for
JPY255 million. The properties all operated by Japan-based hotel management
company Iconia Hospitality K.K. INV’s portfolio now includes 114 hotels.
Capital
Square acquires lease under Texas hotel. Allen, Virginia-based Capital Square has acquired a 99-year
ground lease beneath the newly renovated Le Méridien hotel in downtown Fort
Worth, Texas. The unsubordinated ground lease, which has 95 years remaining on
its term, was acquired on behalf of CS1031 Zero Coupon DFW Hospitality, DST, a
Delaware statutory trust (DST) investment offering. The offering seeks to raise
equity from accredited investors with an offering loan-to-value ratio of 77.78
percent.
Radisson
adds 4 in France. Radisson Hotel Group is strengthening its presence in France with the signing
of four new properties to its growing portfolio. The four properties will take
Radisson’s total footprint in France up to 34 hotels, including those under
development. The latest additions are Banke Opera Paris; Radisson Blu Hotel,
Paris Roissy Charles De Gaulle Airport; Radisson Resort Cannes and Hôtel Beaux
Arts Bourges.
Millennium’s
first branded residences. Dubai-based Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East & Africa is
launching its first-ever branded residence with the 85-key Millennium
Residences Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi.
IHG adds
Garner in Thailand. IHG Hotels & Resorts is partnering with Nova Park Co. Ltd. to launch the
153-key Garner Hotel Pattaya Central, set to open on the east coast of Thailand
later this year. The signing marks a significant milestone for Garner, IHG’s midscale conversion brand. Since its launch in 2023, it has
expanded to 51 open hotels across countries, including Japan, the U.S. and
Germany, and 87 pipeline properties.
Lotte JV
pursues hotels in Japan. Seoul, South Korea-based Lotte Hotel is establishing a joint venture
with Japan’s Lotte Holdings to expand into major overseas cities through
franchising and consignment operations, with the goal of becoming Asia’s top
global hotel operator within 10 years. Lotte Hotel & Resorts and Lotte
Holdings held a ceremony on September 2 in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, to
officially launch the JV Lotte Hotels Japan and formalize their joint pursuit
of the hotel business in Japan.
