The KSL Capital Partners-owned outdoor hospitality brand
starts the new brand with properties in Michigan and Montana.
DENVER – Upscale, outdoor hospitality company Under Canvas
has launched the Outdoor Collection by Under Canvas, a new, curated portfolio of
properties that offer nature-based stays and experiences curated with place and
purpose in mind. The first two properties, The Fields of Michigan and Bar N Ranch,
feature upscale accommodations such as safari-style field tents, contemporary
cottages, classic cabins and lodge rooms.
The announcement comes after the company's recent close on
the acquisition of The Fields of Michigan, a 30-acre working blueberry farm
with 23 private tent and cottage accommodations and amenities including a pool,
upscale dining, massage services and expansive blueberry fields for guest
picking.
Field tents and cottages include ensuite bathrooms,
contemporary furnishings, electricity and private firepits, and The Willow
serves as a communal dining space for guests, offering small plates and
shareables, beverages, evening s'mores, and a Supper Club on weekends. The
Fields camp will welcome guests from May 1-November 2, 2025.
The Bar N Ranch is a traditional, western lodge in West
Yellowstone, Montana, owned by Under Canvas. Set on a 200-acre valley property,
Bar N Ranch is located just 6 miles from the west entrance of Yellowstone
National Park and also offers access to Grand Tetons National Park.
Accommodations include lodge rooms with fireplaces and individual log cabins
with one to four bedrooms. Summer activities include fly-fishing, horseback
riding, hiking, whitewater rafting and guided tours of nearby Yellowstone
National Park. Bar N Ranch will re-open for the 2025 season on May 8, 2025,
and is now accepting reservations for stays through October 6, 2025.
This news comes after an announcement last month that Under
Canvas, owned by KSL Capital Partners, was making a record $50 million
investment in innovations and upgrades across its nationwide locations for the
2025 season.
In addition, last July, Under Canvas aligned with Hyatt
Hotels Corp. so Hyatt loyalty members can book stays and redeem points at its then
13 properties.
Under Canvas will be opening two new camps in 2025, its
first in California, as well as its first in the Pacific Northwest.
Under Canvas Yellowstone was set to open on May 15 as an
80-acre camp set in a mountainside forest, located just 10 minutes from the
west entrance of Yosemite National Park at Big Oak Flat Information Station.
Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge was set to open May 29 on
a 120-acre property perched along the Columbia River Gorge in Washington’s
White Salmon River Valley.
Also new this season is kids’ tents, a safari-style tent for
kids available at the Moab, Columbia River Gorge, North Yellowstone-Paradise
Valley, and Great Smoky Mountains locations.
Under Canvas North Yellowstone-Paradise Valley is debuting
additional tents, while spaces are being refreshed at Under Canvas Moab and
Great Smoky Mountains Camps with improved tents, furnishings and expanded
social spaces including new shade pods, additional fire pits and updated
outdoor seating areas.
