Sonesta-Aken
expands to Colombia. Sonesta International Hotels Corp. has added a Colombian hotel to its
distribution channels as part of its strategic alliance with Aken Hotels &
Resorts (AKEN). Effective immediately, the 24-key Bio Habitat Hotel, Aken Soul
Collection, in Armenia, Colombia, becomes the eighth Colombian property
within the Sonesta portfolio. The hotel is surrounded by more than 16,000
square meters of native forest and is located at the highest point overlooking
the valley.
OTH adds
in Baltimore. Williamsburg,
Virginia-based owner-operator OTH Hotels Resorts (OTH) has added the 170-key DoubleTree by
Hilton Hotel Baltimore North – Pikesville to its management portfolio. It is
the fifth DoubleTree by Hilton property to join OTH, which also manages brand-affiliated properties in
Florida, Maryland and Pennsylvania. OTH has a portfolio of 20 hotels and 38 restaurants.
JP
launching Pan Am Hotels. Wien, Austria-based JP Hospitality is launching Pan Am Hotels, a new
international airport hotel brand, which it said was inspired by the golden age
of travel. With Pan Am Hotels, JP Hospitality is also taking on the role of
operator for the first time. The first Pan Am Hotels will open at European
airports in 2028 and the company said it already has a comprehensive pipeline
of suitable airport assets.
Prism
names COO. Oyo’s
parent firm, Prism, has restructured its leadership team with the elevation of
Ankit Tandon as COO of Prism and CEO, Europe, and Varun Jain being appointed as
COO Asia at Prism. In his expanded role, Tandom will oversee business
performance and operations for Prism worldwide, including brands such as
Belvilla, DanCenter, Sunday Hotels and others. Tandon is currently the CEO of
Oyo Vacation Homes, while Jain is presently the COO India, Prism.
Ritz
debuts in Fiji. Marriott International is partnering with Luxurious Resort (Fiji) Pte Ltd. for
a new-build hotel on the Coral Coast of Fiji. The 249-key Ritz-Carlton
Fiji, located at Namuka Bay, is expected to open in 2030 and will occupy a
28-hectare beachfront site. The property will include 166 guest rooms and 83
villas.
Hyatt
adds in India. Hyatt
Hotels Corp. has entered into a management agreement with Miraj, India-based
Shah Lagoo Properties for the 115-key Hyatt Place Kolhapur Sangli in
India. The hotel will be a part of SL Highstreet, a mixed-use development,
featuring office spaces and upscale retail.
