New Peninsula CEO. Benjamin Vuchot has officially taken over
as executive director and CEO of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd.,
operators of The Peninsula Hotels. He was most recently CEO for DFS Group Ltd.,
a luxury retailers dedicated to travelers. Vuchot, with 30 years of luxury
experience with the likes of Richemont and LVMH, succeeds Clement King Man
Kwok.
Margaritaville to Honduras. Margaritaville and Karisma
Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with Island Shipping, S. de R.L.,
have broken ground on the Margaritaville Island Reserve Resort Roatan in
Honduras. The all-inclusive resort is
set to open in fall 2027. The third property in Margaritaville’s all-inclusive
collection managed by Karisma, the resort will span 8.8 acres along 200 meters
of shoreline and feature 170 guest rooms, including oceanfront suites and
honeymoon swim-up accommodations.
Schroders sells in Monaco. Schroders Capital investment vehicle
Capital France Hôtel sold the 186-room Riviera Marriott Hotel La Porte de
Monaco, located in Cap d’Ail (Côte d’Azur) to Achernar Assets AG, affiliated
with the concession of the Port of Cap d’Ail through Corrado Agusta, managing director
of the group. The price was not disclosed.
Blackstone debt fund. Blackstone has closed its most recent
real estate debt fund, Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies V, which has
approximately $8 billion of capital commitments. Blackstone said this fund has
flexible capital to invest around the world and is deploying capital across
several strategies, including global scale lending, liquid securities,
structured solutions to financial institutions and corporate credit.
