KSL closes $2B PE fund. Denver-based KSL Capital Partners has completed the final closing of its latest travel and leisure-focused private equity fund, KSL Capital Partners VI, L.P., which closed on approximately $2 billion in capital commitments. The fund is backed by state and corporate pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, asset managers and family offices. Since October 2001, KSL has raised over $10.5 billion across private equity, credit and tactical opportunities.
First JW Marriott in
Greece. Marriott International has signed an agreement with
Vasilakis SA to bring the JW Marriott brand to Greece. The 160-key JW Marriott
Crete Resort & Spa is scheduled to open in 2025, and Athens-based SWOT
Hospitality will manage the property.
Janu debuts in Toyko. Baar, Switzerland-based Aman Group is opening its first Janu hotel in Tokyo. The 122-key Janu Toyko has a 43,000 sq. ft. spa and wellness center. Aman has a pipeline of 12 more properties for the new brand.
Numa acquires London hotel. Berlin-based Numa
Group, in partnership with London-based New World Hospitality, has acquired the
86-key Bedford Corner Hotel in London from an undisclosed buyer for an
undisclosed amount. The hotel, Numa’s first in London, will be renovated and rebranded
as NUMA Bloom. Numa now has a presence in 33 cities and 15 countries in Europe.

First Fusion Suites in Thailand. Vietnam-based
Fusion Hotel Group is opening its first Fusion Suites property in Phuket,
Thailand, with the 141-key Fusion Suites Phuket Patong.
Record 2023 revenue for Generator, Freehand. London-based
sister hospitality brands Generator and Freehand both announced record
financial results for 2023, with a 15% increase in revenue and a 28% increase
in EBITDA year-over-year. Both brands reported a 55% increase in business on
the books in the portfolio. Generator has also expanded its portfolio this year
with its first third-party management agreements for Berlin Alexanderplatz in
Germany and The Paramount Hotel in New York, opening in March and May,
respectively.
IHCL adds in India. Indian Hotel Co.
Ltd. is adding a new Taj hotel in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. IHCL is partnering
with Manikaran Commercials Private Ltd. on the 350-key hotel, which will be one
the largest convention facilities in Central India. This will be IHCL’s 12th
hotel in Madhya Pradesh, including four under development.
Accor adds in Türkiye. Accor has signed a
partnership with Prince Group to add its first Mövenpick Resort in Türkiye. The
383-key Mövenpick Resort Antalya Tekirova is scheduled to open in the second
quarter of 2024.
Valor Hospitality creates new F&B arm. Atlanta-based
Valor Hospitality Partners has created a new food and beverage arm called SAVOR
that will allow Valor to expand into managing and creating standalone
restaurants, cafes and bars that are not within a hotel or resort. Currently,
Valor Hospitality has more than 35 bars, bistros and restaurants in 30 cities
worldwide.
