Latest news: Ennismore to Nashville; JV secures $45.36M loan; US hotels mixed

Ennismore adds in Nashville. Ennismore is adding the 200-key The Hoxton, Nashville, which is scheduled to open in 2027. It will join the brand’s growing network in the U.S., including New York, Portland, LA and Chicago. The Hoxton operates hotels in 17 cities globally. Additions are opening in Edinburgh and Dublin in 2025 and the company recently announced signings in Oslo, Norway, and Melbourne, Australia.

JV acquires in Nashville. A joint venture of Reade Hotel Capital and an affiliate of Westport Capital Partners has secured $45.36 million in first mortgage debt for the acquisition of a 208-key Embassy Suites hotel in Nashville from an undisclosed seller. Mesa West Capital provided the capital, a portion of which will be used to fund a multi-million-dollar capital improvement program for the 11-story hotel. The hotel has received minimal upgrades since it was last sold in 2015.

US hotels mixed last week. The U.S. hotel industry reported mixed year-over-year comparisons, according to the latest data from CoStar. For the week of April 20-26, occupancy was 65.1% (-1.0%), ADR was $161.98 (+4.2%) and RevPAR was $105.40 (+3.2%). Among the top 25 Markets, Chicago saw the largest increases in occupancy (+6.8% to 67.6%) and RevPAR (+17.6% to 109.54). Las Vegas posted the highest ADR gain (+19.6% to US$222.42), helped by the LVL UP EXPO. Detroit, host of the NFL Draft during the comparable week in 2024, reported the steepest performance declines: occupancy (-13.4% to 55.5%), ADR (-17.8% to $121.78) and RevPAR (-28.8% to $67.63).

Meyer Jabara adds in Texas. Danbury, Connecticut-based Meyer Jabara Hotels has added the 104-key Hilton Garden Inn McAllen Airport to its management portfolio. This is the company’s third managed hotel in Texas. A significant renovation and property refresh is in the planning stage and scheduled for completion in early 2026.

Waldorf Astoria Nile cruise. Hilton is partnering with Middle East For Nile Cruisers to sign the Waldorf Astoria Nile River Experience. Designed to bring Waldorf Astoria’s service to Africa’s longest and most renowned river, the experience will offer packages of a four and six-night itinerary and will feature five decks and 29 suites. Hilton currently operates 14 hotels in Egypt and is set to triple its presence in the country.

AHLA protests LA wage ordinance. The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) is urging the Los Angeles City Council to reject an ordinance that it says will jeopardize jobs, lead to hotel closures, and decrease tax revenue in the city. AHLA said a planned wage ordinance will place additional hardships on industries that are crucial economic drivers ahead of major international events in the city.

Accor adds in Portugal. Accor has taken over the management of Victoria Golf Resort & Spa in southern Portugal’s Algarve coast. The 260-key hotel will become Victoria Golf Resort & Spa, Managed by Accor. Accor currently operates more than 35 hotels in Portugal across a diverse array of brands.

Hilton debuts Hampton in Thailand. Hilton is debuting its Hampton by Hilton brand in Thailand with the signing of Hampton by Hilton Phuket Town, marking a strategic expansion in Southeast Asia’s midscale segment. The upcoming hotel adds to Hilton’s portfolio in Thailand, with 30 properties and 11 more in development.

HMH expands in KSA. Dubai-based Hospitality Management Holdings (HMH) has announced a major expansion in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) with the addition of new properties and ambitious development plans. HMH has signed an agreement to operate the 157-key Corp Al Khobar Corniche Hotel. The hotel was previously under Accor’s Mercure brand. HMH is also preparing to open its flagship 460-key hotel in Makkah by mid-2025.

Hilton adds in India. Hilton is partnering with Ajay Satya Prakash Hospitality to open the 101-key Hilton Garden Inn Jabalpur, marking the brand’s entry into Jabalpur, India and will become the city’s first internationally branded hotel. Hilton has a portfolio of 58 trading and pipeline hotels in South Asia.
