APACP boost
from Taylor Swift. The 17-night Asia Pacific wing of Taylor Swift’s
Eras Tour gave a much-needed boost in performance to Toyko, Sydney, Melbourne
and Singapore hotels, according to CoStar. Occupancy for the four
markets started to climb almost immediately after the tour dates announcement
last summer, and year-over-year RevPAR growth spiked across all four markets on
concert nights. Melbourne and Singapore reported the largest YOY RevPAR
growth for Eras Tour dates in the region. Because of competing events, Tokyo
and Sydney reported softer YOY RevPAR gains relative to the first two markets.
Accor adding in Germany. Accor plans to open three hotels in Hamburg, Germany, in 2024, including the 227-key Novotel Hamburg Central Station, which debuts on March 25. The company will open the ibis Styles HafenCity and Novotel Hamburg HafenCity in the second half of 2024.
First Marriott Executive Apartments in Asia Pacific. Marriott
International is debuting its Marriott Executive Apartments in Asia Pacific
with the 88-key Marriott Executive Apartments Port Moresby. The property is
located in the Harbourside South development in Papua, New Guinea.
Lemon Tree adds in India. New Delhi,
India-based Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd. (LTHL) has signed a franchise agreement to
open a new hotel in Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand, India. The 45-key
property is expected to open in 2025. LTHL has a portfolio of 160 hotels in
India and worldwide, including over 60 in its pipeline.
$1B senior notes for Hilton. Hilton will offer
$1 billion aggregate in senior notes due in 2029 and 2032. Hilton says the net
proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including the repayment
of $200 million indebtedness under the senior secured revolving credit facility,
investments and acquisitions.
Ryman upsizes senior notes. Ryman
Hospitality has upsized and priced the private placement of $1 billion
aggregate of 6.5% senior notes (the aggregate principal amount has been raised
from the $800 million previously announced). The notes are 4.75% due in 2027,
7.25% in 2028, and 4.5% in 2029. The net proceeds are expected to be
approximately $983 million and will be used to pay off several debts.
