IHG to
scale India presence. With more than 50 open hotels and 80 in development, comprising close to 12,000
rooms, IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to more than triple its estate in India
over the next five years. India remains a key growth engine for IHG and
delivered a third consecutive year of record signings in 2025. This momentum
supports IHG’s ambition to open and develop more than 400 hotels over the next
five years. IHG currently has hotels opened or signed across eight
brands in India within luxury,
premium and midscale categories. IHG will
also debut its Vignette Collection brand in early 2026 to further accelerate
its presence in the Luxury & Lifestyle category in India.
Atari
shuts down in Vegas. Developers said an Atari Hotel, announced six years ago for Las Vegas, won’t
open as the company narrows its focus to its planned development in Phoenix.
Plans for the Vegas Atari hotel were initially announced in January 2020, along
with seven other cities, but COVID slowed and eventually shut down those plans.
IHCL
acquires Brij Hospitality. Indian Hotels Co. Ltd. (IHCL) has signed definitive agreements to
acquire a 51% stake in Brij Hospitality, the owner of the brand ‘Brij’, a
boutique experiential leisure offering. Brij has a portfolio of 22 hotels with 11 in the pipeline. Through this acquisition, IHCL will
gain ownership of the Brij brand and, in collaboration with its founding
promoters, aims to develop the boutique leisure segment in India. Brij Hotels
is a collection of boutique luxury hotels and resorts in India, including
Varanasi, Jawai, Dalhousie and Jaipur.
$7.7M
refi in Texas. Park
City, Utah-based Okoa Capital has secured a $7.7 million refinance for the
86-key Fairfield Inn & Suites in Waxahachie, Texas, in the DFW metropolitan
area. Arriba Capital provided the financing. The borrower originally held a
second lien position on the asset and acquired ownership by foreclosing on
their note. With the original first lien still in place, they needed a lender
willing to refinance out the existing debt while providing runway to reposition
and market the hotel for sale.
Atlanta
hotel sells. Hodges
Ward Elliott has brokered the sale of the 220-key SpringHill Suites Atlanta
Buckhead to an institutional buyer. The new owners plan a comprehensive
renovation that will include guest rooms, meeting spaces, public spaces and
amenities, and will significantly upgrade the hotel’s technological
infrastructure, back-of-house spaces and building envelope.
Ivy adds
in Indiana. Indianapolis, Indiana-based Ivy Hospitality has added the 130-key Springhill
Suites by Marriott Fishers in Indianapolis to its management portfolio.
Lake
Placid hotel rebrands. The Bluebird Lake Placid in Lake Placid, New York, has rebranded as the
Laurel Lake Placid. The 90-key independent hotel has officially debuted in the
Adirondacks. Philadelphia-based HHM Hotels operates the property.
Revo insolvency. Europe’s largest white-label hotel operator Revo Hospitality
Group has filed for insolvency under self-administration at the Charlottenburg
District Court in Berlin for approximately 140 companies. Operations at approximately
125 affected hotels, predominantly in Germany and Austria, will continue and
supervised by court-appointed administrators. However, it has been reported
that Accor blocked the booking systems for numerous Revo hotels. The company was
formed in 2008, grew to 51 hotels by 2020 and to 250 hotels today with annual
revenue of €1.3 billion and around 8,300 employees. GT Restructuring has been
appointed managing directors of the affected companies and stated it plans to
solicit international investors to help turn around the business.
Royalton
acquires in Cancun. St. Michael, Barbados-based Royalton Hotels & Resorts and Mexico-based
investment platform Alojica have finalized the purchase of the 372-key The
Westin Resort & Spa, Cancun, in Mexico, from affiliates of Marriott
Vacations Worldwide for an undisclosed amount. Royalton is planning renovations
to turn it into an all-inclusive hotel in the Marriott portfolio.
Mitsis
launches new brand. Mitsis
has launched Canvas by Mitsis, a new hospitality brand inspired by the essence
of simple, warm, and authentic Greek hospitality. The new brand brings together
six 4-star hotels across Greece.
BWH adds
in India. BWH has
signed off on a new Best Western hotel in Almora, Uttarakhand, marking the
brand’s entry into the Kumaon region in India. The hotel is expected to open by
the end of 2027.
Radisson
adds Red in India. Radisson Hotel Group is opening its second Radisson Red Hotel in Indore,
marking expansion across India's rapidly growing
Tier-II cities. The 115-key hotel will be one of over 200 hotels in operation
and development in the country.
