Savannah
hotel sells. Philadelphia-based
Hersha Hotels and Resorts, a KSL portfolio company, has acquired the 403-key
Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa in Georgia from an undisclosed
seller for an undisclosed amount. JLL facilitated the transaction, which is the
third time JLL has sold the asset in 10 years.
$470M LA
development proposed. Northbrook, Illinois-based Hilco Global, in its capacity as court-approved real
estate broker, said that Los Angeles-based Oceanwide Plaza LLC has entered into
a purchase-and-sale agreement for Oceanwide Plaza, a $470 million development
in downtown LA. Oceanwide Plaza is located directly across from Crypto.com
Arena and is one of the largest mixed-use development projects in Southern
California. The project encompasses three high-rise towers occupying an entire
city block: two 42-story towers and a 52-story tower that includes a planned
11-story luxury hotel and, upon completion, will be Los Angeles’ tallest
residential building. The plan confirmation hearing is scheduled for April 9 in
the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.
50 new
Radissons in India. The Radisson Hotel Group and New Delhi, India-based MBD Group announced a
long-term strategic partnership under a master franchise agreement that could
open as many as 50 new co-branded Radisson hotels in India under the luxury and
lifestyle brands Radisson Collection and Radisson Red. The deals are expected
over the next 10 years, predominantly through an asset-light model in locations
such as Lake Pichola in Udaipur, the Navi Mumbai airport, Bengaluru, and
Ranthambore.
Avion
adds in Pittsburgh. Plano, Texas-based Avion Hospitality has assumed the management of the 298-key
Pittsburgh Marriott North in Pennsylvania. The addition marks the company’s
entry into its 15th state and represents its 40th hotel nationwide since
launching operations in 2022.
Lawsuit
challenges new Hawaii hotel. Community and environmental groups in Hawaii are suing to
try to prevent Host Hotels & Resorts from building a new hotel on Hawaii’s
north shore of Oahu, according to a story in SFGate. Host, the owner of the
Ritz-Carlton Oahu, Turtle Bay, wants to build a new hotel located on about 50
acres between Kawela Bay and Kuilima Point, next to the Ritz-Carlton. The
proposed 375-key hotel would include a fitness center, spa, retail shops and
restaurants. The lawsuit challenges the determination that the proposed
development does not require additional environmental review, arguing that
environmental conditions have changed substantially since the last review in
2013.
OTH adds
2 hotels to portfolio. Williamsburg, Virginia-based OTH Hotels Resorts has added two new
management contracts, expanding its presence in Pennsylvania and marking its
first Ohio hotels: the 460-key DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Greentree and
the 125-key DoubleTree by Hilton Youngstown Downtown. OTH now has a portfolio
of 24 hotels across the eastern U.S.
Brick
adds in San Diego. San
Diego-based Brick Hospitality has added the Ramada Suites by Wyndham San Diego
to its portfolio. After being closed for nearly two years, the property was
taken over by Brick Hospitality in June 2025. Upon assuming management, Brick
led a renovation to reposition the hotel and address deferred updates.
Partnership
on Georgia hotel. Highlands, North Carolina-based Old Edwards Hospitality Group (OEHG) and
Charleston, South Carolina-based Indigo Road Hospitality Group (IRHG) have
formed a strategic partnership in which OEHG will manage the 50-key Rivet House
hotel and spa in Athens, Georgia, while IRHG will continue to oversee
operations of the property’s onsite restaurant, Osteria Olio.
Minor
adds in Ghana. Bangkok-based Minor Hotels has partnered with Swami India Ghana Ltd. To sign
the 200-key NH Collection Accra, the first property under the NH Collection
brand in Ghana. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2030.
Luxury
hotel in Japan prison. Japan-based Hoshino Resorts will open the country’s first luxury hotel
inside a former prison, marking one of the most unconventional adaptive reuse
projects in Japan. The 48-key Hoshinoya Nara Prison is scheduled to open in
June. The Nara Prison building was built in 1908 and, in 2017, received national
cultural property status.
Chalet
developing in Hyderabad. Mumbai, India-based Chalet Hotels Ltd. is developing a 330-key luxury
hotel in Madhapur in India. The development will also include approximately
36,255 sq. ft. of retail and commercial space and will be executed on a warm
shell lease basis, with the company serving as both developer and operator. The
total investment for the project is estimated at ₹632.8 crore, and the hotel is
expected to become operational by FY2029.
IHG adds
in southern India. IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Chentoor Hotels
Pvt. Ltd. for the development of the 150-key Holiday Inn Express & Suites
Madurai in India. The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2029. IHG currently
operates 51 hotels across six brands in India, with a pipeline of 89 hotels due
to open over the next three to five years.
