Covivio
acquires 4 in Milan. Paris-based Covivio, through its subsidiary Covivio Hotels, is partnering with
New York City-based Invest Hospitality to acquire a portfolio of four hotels in
Milan, Italy, for €217 million ($256 million). Covivio said its share of the
900-key portfolio is €115 million. The deal is a sale-and-leaseback
transaction, and Invest Hospitality will continue to operate the hotels, each
with a 21-year lease.
Rebrand
in Miami. The former
Hotel AKA Brickell is now the 201-key Brickell Arch, A Luxury Collection Hotel,
Miami, has rebranded and is now part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. The
hotel is managed by Norwalk, Connecticut-based HEI Hotels & Resorts.
New Drury
in Myrtle Beach. St.
Louis, Missouri-based Drury Hotels plans to build the 400-key Plaza Hotel in
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The site for the new hotel includes the former
Sea Dip Ocean Front Resort, which closed last year after 54 years in business.
Drury Development Group bought the property last February for $9.5 million.
New
dual-brand Wyndham in Phoenix. SkyPlus Hotel Corp. has started construction on a
dual-branded 129-key Wingate and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham hotel near the
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. The project marks the first hospitality venture
within SkyBridge Arizona, the 363-acre international trade and logistics site,
and is scheduled to open in spring 2027.
PM adds
in Tysons Corner. Chevy Chase, Maryland-based PM Hotel Group has added the 234-key Embassy Suites
by Hilton Tysons Corner in Tysons, Virginia, to its management portfolio. The
hotel sits between downtown Washington, D.C. and Washington Dulles
International Airport.
First
Hospitality adds in Wisconsin. First Hospitality has been selected by Hovde Properties and
Mountain Shore Properties to manage the 81-key Historian Hotel in Madison,
Wisconsin. The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027 and will
be First Hospitality’s first in the Madison market and its 11th property in
Wisconsin.
Outrigger
unveils new collection. Honolulu-based Outrigger Resorts & Hotels has introduced its Premier
Suite & Villas Collection, a global portfolio of beachfront villas and
suites across Hawaii, Fiji, Thailand, Mauritius and the Maldives. The
collection includes the Coral Reef Penthouse – Outrigger Reef Waikīkī Beach
Resort (Oahu); the Grand Navigator Suite – Outrigger Reef Waikīkī Beach Resort
(Oahu); the Royal Huakaʻi Suite – Outrigger Kona
Resort & Spa (Hawaii Island): the Premier Suites – Outrigger Honua Kai Resort & Spa (Maui); the Plantation Family Bure
& New Pool Bures – Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort (Fiji); the Overwater Pool
Villas – Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru Resort (Maldives); and the Hill Top
Pool Villas – Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort (Thailand), which will debut in
May.
IHG adds
in Malaysia. IHG has
signed its second Kimpton property in Malaysia, the 350-key beachfront Kimpton
Kota Kinabalu on the Tanjung Aru shoreline. The project is being developed in
partnership with Pekah Beach Resorts Sdn Bhd and is scheduled to open in 2031.
Globally, the Kimpton brand continues to expand with more than 80 hotels open
and more than 60 in the pipeline. In Southeast Asia, three Kimpton properties
are already welcoming guests and six more are set to launch in the coming
years.
Langham adds in China. Hong Kong-based Langham Hospitality Group has
been selected by Jinan Licheng District Quanfuhe Investment Development Co.
Ltd. to manage a 286-key luxury hotel to be built in Jinan, the capital of
China’s Shandong Province. The Langham, Jinan will be located in the central
business district of Century-Old Honglou, a neighborhood in Licheng District
known for historical buildings dating back to the early 1900s. The hotel is
scheduled to open in 2029.
