CN Hotels
acquires in Florida. High Point, North Carolina-based CN Hotels has acquired the adjacent 120-key
Holiday Inn and 96-key Staybridge Suites in South Florida from an institutional
partnership for an undisclosed amount. This marks the company’s fifth
acquisition in 2025 and further expands its South Florida footprint.
Atlanta-based Hunter Hotel Advisors facilitated the transaction.
Touchstone
acquires 2 in Dallas suburbs. Plano, Texas-based Touchstone Hospitality Fund has acquired
the two Aloft-branded hotels, totaling 272 keys, in the Dallas suburbs of Plano
and Frisco, from an undisclosed seller for an
undisclosed amount. Hunter Hotel Advisors facilitated the transaction. Both
properties were built in 2008.
Blueleaf
Capital launches. Hotel investor Andy Chopra, former co-founder of S Collective, has launched
Blueleaf Capital in Atlanta and completed its first acquisition: the 220-key
SpringHill Suites by Marriott Buckhead, a core-located asset acquired at a 44%
discount to its prior 2007 valuation, in joint venture with Atlanta-based 3VP.
NYC hotel
being converted. Slate Property Group and Breaking Ground, New York’s largest nonprofit
supportive housing developer, have completed the acquisition of the Stewart
Hotel in Midtown Manhattan for $255 million. The purchase is part of the firm’s
plans for a hotel-to-residential conversion project that will deliver more than
575 permanently affordable apartments. Construction is set to begin late next
year, converting the hotel into 579 homes for low-income households and
formerly homeless individuals.
New UK
hotel in Wimbledon. London-based Watkin Jones, with U.K.-based Latium Enterprises, will develop a 294-key hotel in Wimbledon, England. The 11-story hotel is scheduled for
delivery in the summer of 2027. This is Watkin Jones’ second partnership with
Latium.
Leonardo
acquires 4. Fattal
Hotel Group’s Leonardo Hotels has acquired four IntercityHotels (638 rooms) in
Germany. Leonardo will renovate the rooms and public areas of the four hotels
and operate them under a white-label banner through Q2 2026, when they will be
rebranded under Leonardo. Leonardo has also acquired the 139-room Crowne Plaza
London Ealing from Canadian owner-operator Westmont Hospitality.
Austrian
hotel sells. German
investor Art-Invest Real Estate has acquired the 216-room 25hours Hotel Vienna
at MuseumsQuartier in Austria from a JV between Austrian real estate investors
JP Immobilien and Wertinvest. The hotel is leased on a long-term basis to
German operator KNSA Hospitality.
First
Andaz in Bangkok. Hyatt Hotels Corp. has opened the 244-key Andaz One Bangkok, the first Andaz in
Bangkok and the second in Thailand. The hotel is part of One Bangkok, the
largest holistically integrated district in the city.
IHG adds
Vignette in Africa. The Fairview Hotel Nairobi in Africa is joining IHG’s Vignette Collection. The
99-room boutique hotel, known as Upper Hill’s living garden hotel, represents
the brand’s first in Africa and the first on the continent to join IHG’s Luxury
& Lifestyle portfolio.
Marriott’s
200th in India. Marriott has opened the 135-key Westin Jaipur Kant Kalwar Resort & Spa,
which marks Marriott’s 200th property in the country across 18 brands and a pipeline of nearly 150
hotels.
IHCL adds
Taj in Cairo. The
Indian Hotels Co. Ltd. (IHCL) is opening a new Taj hotel in Cairo. Designed
to preserve a historic building in the city, the 300-key Taj Cairo will be
located in the Opera Square district in Egypt’s capital.
