MCR,
the third largest hotel owner-operator in the U.S., has acquired the largest
hotel near Chicago O’Hare International Airport for an undisclosed amount.
NEW YORK —
MCR, the 3rd-largest hotel owner-operator in the U.S., has acquired the
1,095-key Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago from an undisclosed seller for an
undisclosed amount.
The 11-story
hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, underwent a $13 million guestroom renovation in
2020. This is MCR’s first Hyatt Regency-branded hotel acquisition and its fifth
hotel in Illinois.
The Hyatt
Regency O’Hare Chicago is connected via skywalk to the Donald E. Stephens
Convention Center, which has more than 840,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space, and
the surrounding area has more than 18 million sq. ft. of office space.
MCR has a $5
billion portfolio of 150 hotels in 37 states across the U.S. The company
operates nine Marriotts, eight Hiltons and a number of unflagged independent
hotels.
Earlier this
week, MCR announced a $300 million refinancing for a portfolio of 22
select-service hotels across 14 states. The portfolio includes 2,855 guest
rooms in high-growth markets like Texas, Florida, New Mexico and South
Carolina, which are managed by MCR’s in-house operations team.
