Travelodge acquires 6 in Spain. Travelodge is
doubling its portfolio in Spain by acquiring six hotels, totaling 773 rooms,
from France-based Louvre Hotels Group. The hotels are currently
branded Hotel Campanile, with five acquired on a freehold basis and one acquired
on a long leasehold. The acquisitions were from the Spanish subsidiaries of the
Travelodge OpCo Group and are located in Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga,
and Murcia. Travelodge now has 12 hotels in its Spanish portfolio.
SAK Developers adds in DC area. Ashburn, Virginia-based SAK Developers acquired the 154-key Hampton Inn & Suites National Harbor from Blackstone in early March for $47 million. Blackstone acquired the property in 2014. According to R.W. Baird, SAK Developers financed the acquisition with a $34.3 million loan. PM group will assume management of the property, which will be its 10th property in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Marriott adds 50th Fairfield in
China. Marriott is adding
its 50th Fairfield in Greater China by opening the 145-key Fairfield by
Marriott Chengdu High-Tech Zone. Fairfield has 1,280 properties in 19 countries
and territories.
Nammos opens first property. Mykonos, Greece-based Nammos Hotels &
Resorts is opening its inaugural property, the 26-key Nammos Hotel Mykonos.
Nammos also has resorts in the Maldives and Abu Dhabi in its pipeline.
Maya Hotels names new CEO,
president. The owners of
Charlotte-based Maya Hotels have transitioned the leadership duties to their
children. Krishna Deva will be CEO and Parimal Thakor will be president. Maya
Hotels was created in 1995 by Baldev Thakor and J.D. Deva and has 10 properties
with more than 1,000 rooms in North and South Carolina.
Cycas adds in the UK. Amsterdam-based Cycas Hospitality will manage
the UK’s first Fairfield by Marriott hotel. The 142-key property is scheduled
to open in early 2026
Remington adds in Corpus Christi. Dallas-based Remington Hospitality will manage
the 236-key Holiday Inn Corpus Christi Airport & Conference Center in the
company’s first partnership with Dallas-based Domus Holdings, LLC. Remington
manages 135 hotels in 27 states and Washington, D.C., across 33 brands.
World’s largest Mercure opens. Accor has opened the world’s largest Mercure
hotel with the 989-key Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre.
