Pierre listed for sale again?. Indian Hotel Co. Ltd.-owned
since 2007, The Pierre in New York City is again being discussed as for sale,
according to a Bloomberg report. The 189-room hotel sales would not include the
80 co-op units in the building, according to sources. The sale would include
the property’s retail and F&B space. No transaction is complete, and a deal
structure hasn’t been determined, said Bloomberg’s sources.
Update on Sunstone sale rumor. R.W. Baird analyst Michael
Bellisario published a note on Tuesday after meeting with Sunstone Hotel
Investors management updating recent M&A speculation and suggested there could be a bid-ask spread of about $2 per share. A recent report stated Trinity
Investment has been in conversations with Sunstone and floated a bid of about
$13 per share. Bellisario said that Sunstone management noted that credible
offers are always evaluated by the board, and that various forms of discussion
regarding potential transactions occur often with industry participants. He
said Trinity Investment’s interest at "about $13" was: (1) an
indication of interest, not a fully financed offer that included debt and
equity commitments; and (2) not high enough of a per-share price for the
Sunstone Board to consider. He added that Sunstone is optimistic about a better
overall setup for growth and the portfolio's earnings recovery in 2025.
