Latest news: CoralTree adds in Vail; Extendam acquires 2 Sofitels; Hilton debuts Spark in UK

CoralTree adds in Vail. Englewood, Colorado-based CoralTree Hospitality has added the 25-key Austria Haus Hotel in Vail, Colorado, to its management portfolio. CoralTree has entered into a licensing agreement with Hyatt to manage Austria Haus Hotel under the Destination by Hyatt brand.

Extendam acquires two in Europe. Paris-based Extendam has acquired hotels in Rome and Lisbon to expand its European portfolio from an undisclosed buyer for an undisclosed amount. The two hotels are the 78-key Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese in Rome and the 163-key Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade in Spain. The Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese is a former 19th-century palace that was last renovated in 2018 (with new renovations planned to improve energy and environmental performance) while the Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade has a planned renovation to increase the number of suites and create a spa and wellness center. Extendam said the acquisitions mark the start of a partnership with Accor’s Sofitel brand.

Marriott adds in Buenos Aires. Marriott International has signed the 118-key Sheraton Buenos Aires Greenville Polo & Resort, which will be the 11th Marriott-branded hotel in Argentina. The hotel, scheduled to open in the third quarter of this year, is owned by Pereiraola S.A. Group and operated by Gijon S.A. and its subsidiary Senda Management.

Minor debuts NH Collection in Finland. Bangkok, Thailand-based Minor Hotels is debuting the NH Collection in Finland with the opening of the 224-key NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa. It’s the second NH Collection hotel in the Nordics, following the NH Collection Copenhagen in Denmark, which opened in 2021.

Meliá adds in Mexico. Mallorca, Spain-based Meliá Hotels International is opening a new hotel under the ME by Meliá brand in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The 140-key ME by Meliá Hotel in San Miguel de Allende is under construction and is scheduled to open in 2025. It will be Meliá’s 14th hotel in Mexico.

Parks Hotels closing $550M 2030 senior notes. Tysons, Virginia-based REIT Park Hotels & Resorts completed its previously announced offering of $550 million aggregate principal amount of 7% senior notes due 2030. The REIT intends to use the net proceeds of the offering, together with the proceeds of a new $200 million unsecured term loan that was incurred under an amendment to the company’s existing credit agreement, to purchase all $650 million of the REIT’s 7.5% senior notes due 2025 with any remaining net proceeds used for general corporate purposes.

Hilton will debut Spark in Europe. Hilton is debuting its conversion Spark brand in Europe by signing the 125-key Spark by Hilton London Romford. The Spark brand launched in October and has over 30 hotels operating, with over 175 in the pipeline.

Langham adds in China. Hong Kong-based Langham Hospitality Group is doubling its Cordis Hotels & Resorts footprint in Jiangsu Province in China with the planned opening of a new hotel in Kunshan. The 285-key The Cordis, Kunshan, Xiajia, which is being developed by Kunshan Xincheng Development Construction Co., a subsidiary of Kunshan Guochuang Investment Group Co. – will be the 10th Cordis property in operation or development in mainland China.

UK hotel sells. The 45-key Imperial Hotel in Pembrokeshire, U.K., has been sold to Crest Hotels for an undisclosed price. The hotel, originally built in 1835, was formerly part of the Coast and Country Collection. It is one of 33 hotel assets put to market as part of the Coast and Country portfolio.

Una St. Ives resort adding villas. Una St Ives has launched five new high-end villas at its Carbis Bay in the U.K., with 22 more planned by the end of this year. The villas are part of a phased, multi-million-pound investment in the resort, acquired by Cornwall, U.K.-based Kingfisher Resorts in 2016. The resort wants to create 93 new villas and 55 luxury apartments for a £60 million investment.

Red Planet adds in the Philippines. Red Planet is fully opening its largest hotel, the 245-room Red Planet BGC The Fort in Fort Bonifacio, Philippines. This will be Red Planet’s 14th property in the Philippines, which had a soft opening with 45 rooms in December and represents an investment of at least P500 million for the company. Red Planet is now owned by Japanese developer Polaris Holdings Co. Ltd.
