Caliber
Hospitality adds 7 hotels. Scottsdale, Arizona-based Caliber has agreed with Atlanta-based Satori
Collective in which Satori will contribute seven hotel properties worth
approximately $120 million to Caliber Hospitality Trust (CHT). The transaction
is expected to close in early 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
The seven Satori properties include a mix of middle-market full-service,
select-service and extended-stay hotels in Madison, Wisconsin; Peoria,
Illinois; Houston; Columbus, Georgia and Tuscaloosa, Alabama, representing
Marriott, Hilton and IHG brands. After acquiring the Satori portfolio, CHT will
have 22 hotels in ownership and expand its assets under management from $234
million today to $530 million. These hotels will continue to be operated by
Atlanta-based Aperture Hotels. Caliber said it is in active discussions with
other potential third-party contributors to CHT and expects to make additional
announcements in the coming months.
$100M
refi in New Orleans. A
joint venture between life insurance company MetLife Inc. and Marriott
International recently secured a $100 million refinance of the 1,100-key
Sheraton New Orleans. New York City-based RobertDouglas helped secure the
financing.
Florida
resorts close ahead of Milton. Still reeling from Hurricane Helene, numerous hotels and
resorts along Florida’s Gulf Coast are suspending operations as Hurricane
Milton intensifies offshore, according to a story in Travel Weekly. Milton is
expected to make landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast on Wednesday evening and
barrel across the state. The St. Regis Longboat Key said it has closed and will
waive cancellation fees through Oct. 14. In the St. Pete Beach area, the Don
CeSar and the Sirata have both closed their doors.
Zleep
rebranding its properties. Danish hotel company Zleep Hotel, which recently merged with third-party
management company Core Hospitality, has signed an agreement with Marriott
International to rebrand its 14 properties in Denmark to the Four Points Flex
by Sheraton brand. The majority of the hotels are expected to be fully
rebranded in December of this year, with the rest following in early 2025.
Through the conversions, Core Hospitality adds over 1,500 rooms and 10 new
markets to Marriott’s portfolio in Denmark. Additionally, the deal makes Core
Hospitality the largest franchisee for Marriott in the Nordic region. The
company operates 17 hotels in Denmark across five of Marriott’s brands, with
three properties in its pipeline.
IHG adds
dual-branded in Orlando. IHG Hotels & Resorts is partnering with Daiwa House Group to
recently break ground on a new dual-branded EVEN Hotels and Staybridge Suites
property in Orlando, Fla., in collaboration with Osaka, Japan-based Daiwa House
Group. The 288-key EVEN Hotel and Staybridge Suites Orlando Universal Blvd. is
scheduled to open in 2026. IHG and Dalwa also partnered to open the brand’s
first Hotel Indigo in Japan in 2020 and recently signed a letter of intent to
develop three additional hotels in the country.
Sonesta
adds in Peru. Newton, Massachusetts-based Sonesta International Hotels Corp. has finalized an
agreement with master franchisor GHL to launch the Sonesta Hotel Miraflores in
Lima, Peru. The 133-room upscale hotel is scheduled to open early in 2025. GHL
is the largest third-party hotel operator in the Andean region and Central
America and operates 62 hotels in Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Central America,
Chile and Spain.
Hyatt
debuts Park brand in UK. Hyatt Hotels Corp is partnering with R&F One (UK) Ltd. to debut the
Park Hyatt brand in the U.K. by opening the 203-key Park Hyatt London River
Thames. The hotel was originally scheduled to open in 2022. R&F will manage
the hotel.
Rocco
Forte adds in Sicily. London-based Rocco Forte Hotels is in southeastern Sicily with the announcement
of its third Sicilian hotel in Noto. The 31-key Rocco Forte Palazzo
Castelluccio is scheduled to open in 2026. The hotel will transform one of the
town’s largest and most beautiful palaces, Palazzo Castelluccio, with restored
18th-century architecture. Rocco Forte has four new openings planned in the
next three years.
Marriott
debuts Tribute in South Korea. Marriott International is debuting its Tribute Portfolio in
South Korea with 141-key The Link Seoul, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in the
district of Sindorim in Seoul, South Korea.
