Accor Vacation Club
acquisition closes. Orlando-based Travel + Leisure Co. has successfully
closed its acquisition of the Accor Vacation Club for $48.4 million. The deal
means the Accor Vacation Club based in Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia,
including 24 resorts and nearly 30,000 club members, will now be integrated
into the Travel + Leisure Co. business structure. Travel + Leisure Co.
President and CEO Michael Brown said the acquisition came from a desire to bust
a myth of the vacation ownership space — that a multi-brand business won’t work.
CL Hotels adds in Miami. Miami-based CL
Hotels has acquired the 97-key Circa 39 Hotel in Miami Beach from Atlanta-based
AMS Hospitality for $25.55 million, according to the South Florida Business
Journal. CL Hotels purchased the hotel through its CLH Circa39 LLC. AMS Hospitality
is a joint venture between Stormont Hospitality Group, Allen Morris Co. and
Miami-based Black Salmon. The hotel last sold in 2021 for $25.5 million.
Loews Minneapolis rebrand. The previously announced acquisition of the 251-key Loews Minneapolis Hotel has closed, and the property will now be The Lofton Hotel under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton flag. The hotel was acquired from a joint venture between Milwaukee-based Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Minneapolis-based Hempel Real Estate and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-based Robinson Park Investments from an undisclosed buyer for an undisclosed amount. Marcus will manage the hotel, the first Tapestry Collection hotel in Minnesota.
Marriott adds in DR. Marriott International has signed the Sunrise Miches Beach Resort in the Dominican Republic, which will be renamed Marriott Miches Beach. The resort will undergo a conversion process starting in the second quarter of 2024 and open as a Marriott in the first quarter of 2025. The 498-key resort is located in Punta Cana.
New hotel in Thailand. Phuket, Thailand-based Mishari Group Ltd. is will open later this the Melia Phuket Karon Residences on Karon Beach in Thailand. All the condos and pool villas will be completed by March 2025. The property will have 138 rooms and 68 residences and will be managed by Meliá Hotels International.
Andras House acquires in Belfast. Belfast, Northern
Ireland-based Andras House has acquired the 146-key ETAP Hotel in Belfast for
£7.35m ($9.31m) from an undisclosed seller. Andras House currently has six hotels operating and one under
construction. CBRE Northern Ireland, CBRE Hotels Dublin and Cushman & Wakefield assisted with the deal.
Megaworld adds in Philippines. Manila,
Philippines-based Megaworld is building its second hotel development inside the
Paragua Coastown ecotourism township in San Vicente, Palawan, in the
Philippines. The 10-story, 313-key Paragua Sands is scheduled to open in 2029
and will be operated and managed by Megaworld Hotels and Resorts. The company
has 12 hotels in operation and eight more in the pipeline in the Philippines.
GHA partnering with Plum Guide. Dubai-based Global
Hotel Alliance (GHA) is expanding its loyalty program, GHA DISCOVERY, through a
new partnership with Plum Guide. This alliance represents GHA’s first expansion
into the vacation home sector and is Plum Guide’s first foray into a loyalty
program. Plum Guide launched its vacation rental platform in 2016 and now has
over 38,000 homes in 700 cities across 29 countries. GHA DISCOVERY members
currently have access to 800 properties operated by 40 brands in 100 countries.
H2O adds properties to Marriott platform. Seoul, South
Korea-based management company H2O Hospitality announced that select rental
properties will be available on Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy. H20 will
have 2,000-plus properties in South Korea and Japan on the platform.
