The
hotels in Luang Prabang, Laos, and Siem Reap, Cambodia, are now being managed
by HMD Asia under Executive Director Anthony Lark.
INTERNATIONAL REPORT – KS Hotels and HMD Asia have acquired La
Résidence hotels in Luang Prabang in Laos and Siem Reap, Cambodia. Both
properties were previously owned and managed by Belmond.
La Résidence Phou Vao, the hilltop property within the
UNESCO Heritage region of Luang Prabang, Laos, will continue to operate as
normal but under the new management of HMD Asia, effective November 1.
La Résidence D’Angkor is currently closed for renovation and
will be reopened in the final quarter of 2025 under management of HMD Asia. The
hotel is located on the riverside in Siem Reap, the gateway to the storied
temples of Angkor Wat.
HMD Asia is owned by Cambodian entrepreneur Sokoun Chanpreda
and is managed by Executive Director Anthony Lark, a seasoned hotelier who
previously opened and managed a number of Amanresorts properties in Southeast
Asia and the Trisara resort in Phuket, Thailand.

HMD Asia currently holds the three Shinta Mani properties (two
in Cambodia and one in Napal) created by designer/developer Bill Bensley; the TRIBE
in Phnom Penh, Cambodia; the Park Hyatt – Siem Reap, Cambodia; and in 1Q25 will
open JATI - Koh Russey in Cambodia.
KS Hotels was established in 2007 and has developed and
acquired luxury hospitality assets in Thailand, Cambodia, The Maldives, Laos
and Australia. Among them are Park Hyatts in the Maldives and Cambodia; a JW
Marriott in Khao Lak, Thailand; a Sofitel in Luang Prabang, Laos; the Moxy Sydney
Airport; and the Point Yamu by COMO in Thailand.
