HHP
acquires in Greenville. New York City-based Highline Hospitality Partners (HHP) has acquired the
200-key Westin Poinsett in Greenville, South Carolina. The transaction marks
the company’s 19th hotel acquisition and its third this year. Built in 1925 and
included on the National Register of Historic Places and the Historic Hotels of
America registry, the 11-story hotel has several F&B outlets and nearly
10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Norwalk, Connecticut-based HEI Hotels &
Resorts will manage the hotel.
First
Hyatt in Chattanooga. Chattanooga, Tennessee-based 3H Group Inc. is opening the 123-key Caption by
Hyatt Chattanooga Downtown, the city's first Hyatt property. The hotel will be
operated by Dothan, Alabama-based LBA Hospitality.
London
Radisson Blu sells. London-based CLI Dartiver has acquired the 127-key Radisson Blu Hotel, London
Leicester Square, from an affiliate of Starwood Capital Group for an estimated
£120 million ($159 million). CBRE helped broker the deal.
New Vero
Beach hotel. Deerfield Beach, Florida-based Diversified Realty Development Co. is developing
a new TownePlace Suites by Marriott near the Vero Beach Regional Airport in
Florida, with construction expected to begin by summer. The project will be
built on 4.7 acres of city-owned airport property across from the Jackie
Robinson Training Complex.
Garner
debuts in China. IHG
Hotels & Resorts has debuted Garner hotels in Greater China, its 14th brand
in the country, with the Garner Beijing 798 Art District. Multiple projects
have already been signed in other locations, including Shanghai Lujiazui,
Chongqing Jiefangbei and Hangzhou West Lake. Since its global launch in 2023,
Garner has expanded rapidly, with more than 100 hotels now open worldwide.
Series
debuts in Japan. Marriott has partnered with Tokyo-based EastGate Hospitality to debut its
Series by Marriott collection brand in Japan with the opening of the 256-key
Sugata Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi, Series by Marriott. Following the global debut
of Series in India last year, Marriott said this opening represents an
important milestone for the brand’s expansion in Asia Pacific.
10-hotel
deal in Ethiopia. Dubai-based The First Group Hospitality and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia-based Midroc
Investment Group have signed a master agreement to develop and operate 10
properties across Ethiopia, marking a significant growth of internationally
branded hospitality assets in the East African country. The portfolio includes
independent and Marriott-branded franchised properties in urban and gateway
destinations, including Addis Ababa, Hawassa, Bahir Dar, Jimma, Langano and
Danbi. In total, the hotels are expected to deliver approximately 1,140 keys,
with openings scheduled between 2026 and 2031. The agreement aligns with The
First Group Hospitality’s strategy to expand its third-party and white-label
management platform in Africa.
JV in
Thailand. Bangkok,
Thailand-based Centara Hotels & Resorts, has formed a strategic joint
venture with PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR) to launch
a new budget hotel brand. Through this partnership, Centara and OR will develop
a network of budget hotels located adjacent to PTT Station service complexes.
The first phase of the project will see the development of six budget hotels
across Thailand, with openings planned between 2027 and 2028. The properties
will be located in Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Phuket, Chon Buri and
Songkhla.
Radisson
surpasses 100 hotels in Africa. Radisson Hotel Group has reached a significant milestone in
Africa, with more than 100 hotels across the continent in operation and under
development. The company has signed over 15 new hotels totaling roughly 2,500
rooms in the last 12 months, including new-market entries in the Democratic
Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe. Over the past five years, Radisson and Radisson
Blu have ranked among the most signed brands in Africa, with one of the highest
cumulative opening rates. Priority growth markets remain Morocco, South Africa
and Nigeria, where Radisson is deepening its presence and widening its brand
distribution.
Swiss-Belhotel
expands in Indonesia. Swiss-Belhotel International has announced a series of new hotel management
contract signings in the first quarter of 2026, accelerating its expansion
plans in Indonesia. Key cities identified for expansion include Bali, Batam,
Bengkulu, Central Kalimantan, Lampung, Semarang, Tangerang and Yogyakarta. The
portfolio spans several market segments: luxury and upper-upscale brands,
including MĀUA by Swiss-Belhotel and Grand Swiss-Belhotel; midscale
Swiss-Belinn and Swiss-Belcourt properties; and economy offerings through
Swiss-Belhotel Express. The company aims to surpass 530 operating properties
worldwide by 2033. Alongside continued growth in Indonesia, the group is also
expanding further into Australasia, Africa, China, Malaysia, the Middle East
and Vietnam. It has over 120 hotels and projects in Indonesia and more than 165
properties across 20 countries worldwide.
Partnership in West Cairo. Triumph Hotels Management and real estate
developer M|A Group have formed a strategic partnership to develop the
hotel-apartment project, Triumph Pyramids Hotel, in West Cairo, Egypt.
