Two NC hotels join Marine & Lawn. Two hotels in Southern Pines, North Carolina, Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club, which opened in 1921, and Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, which followed in 1928, are entering a joint venture with one of Marine & Lawn
Hotels & Resorts, a division of Nashville-based AJ Capital Partners. Both hotels’ facilities will soon undergo significant renovations and up-fittings. Among the early priorities is taking over a total reconstruction of the Mid Pines Inn, which will
begin late this fall and the hotel will be shut down for six to eight months. These will be Marine & Lawn’s first hotel venture in the U.S. after acquiring four golf-adjacent hospitality assets in Scotland and two in Northern Island.
HRI adds in New Orleans. New Orleans-based HRI Hospitality has added the 252-key Hilton New Orleans St. Charles Avenue to its management portfolio. Originally constructed in 1926 as the Louisiana Masonic Temple and one of the city’s earliest skyscrapers, the
hotel will begin an extensive, property-wide repositioning in early 2026.
Certares recently acquired the hotel from Sunstone Hotel Investors for $47 million.
Famous Macau hotel sells. The 13 Hotel in Macau has been acquired for HK$600 million ($76.43 million) by an unnamed investor in Macau, the city’s first such property transaction in eight years. The sale of the 22-story, 199-key hotel concluded a five-year
search for a buyer. The acquisition was Macau’s first hotel transaction since the fourth quarter of 2017.
Sonder
CEO steps down. San Francisco-based Sonder Holdings said that Co-founder Francis Davidson has stepped down as the company’s CEO and as a member of the board of directors. Janice Sears, chairperson of the board, has been appointed interim CEO, effective
immediately. Sears will continue to serve as Sonder’s board chairperson. The board intends to immediately initiate a search process to identify the next CEO. During his tenure, Davidson grew Sonder into a hospitality brand generating several hundred
million dollars of annual revenue, serving millions of guests across more than 40 markets in nine countries across North America, Europe and the UAE. Since January, Sears has served on the Sonder board since 2021, as chairperson and previously as
lead independent director and audit committee chair. She has previously served as a director of Legacy Sonder since August 2021.
Dellisart
adds 6 to portfolio. Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina-based Dellisart has added six full-service management contracts in the second quarter of 2025. The newly added properties span multiple markets and segments.
Ithaka
names new CDO. Auburn, Alabama-based Ithaka Hospitality Partners named Scott Rohm its first chief development officer. Rohm’s career includes tenure at Ritz-Carlton and founding roles at Capella and Starwood Capital’s SH Group, where he led brand
development and the launches of Baccarat and 1Hotels. He was most recently COO of Auberge Resorts Collection. Last week, Ithaka named Ryan
Magnon as its COO.
Rentyl adds in Miami. Kissimmee, Florida-based Rentyl Resorts has been named the exclusive hospitality partner and property manager for the retail environment of Miami Worldcenter — a $6 billion, 27-acre mixed-use destination in Miami. As part
of this collaboration, Rentyl Resorts will oversee retail property management and guest experience operations at Miami Worldcenter while integrating its full-service national hospitality platform across the project’s residential, resort, and lifestyle
offerings.
IGIS
selling Guam resort. Seoul-based IGIS Asset Management is putting the 424-key The Westin Resort Guam on the market. Colliers is marketing the property. The 21-story resort is on a beach along Tuman Bay and has a master lease expiring in 2026. The
property also has six newly renovated villas.
First
Mint House in DC. Mint House is opening 1010 Vermont, its first property in Washington, D.C. The former 11-story office building built in the 1920s is now transformed into an 85-key boutique apartment hotel. This will be Mint House’s second opening
this year, following the recent opening of The Dylin in Madison, Wisconsin.
Bob W
adds in Copenhagen. Helsinki-based Bob W is partnering with Nordic real estate investor Slättö for an adaptive reuse of a 7,500 square meter former police station in Copenhagen that will be turned into a Bob W hotel. The 169-key Bob W Copenhagen
Vesterbro is scheduled to open in October 2027. The agreement marks one of the operator’s largest deals to date and represents a significant investment in Denmark, further strengthening Bob W’s presence in the Nordics.
Imperial
adds in Kyoto. Tokyo-based Imperial Hotel is opening the 55-key Imperial Hotel, Kyoto, in Spring 2026. The seven-story boutique hotel is an adaptive reuse of the Yasaka Kaikan, a nationally registered tangible cultural property originally built in
1936.
Marriott
Vacation Club upgrade. The Marriott Vacation Clubs, a portfolio of vacation ownership brands operated by Marriott Vacations Worldwide, is expanding its ownership benefit with the ability to use club points to directly book stays at more than 8,000
Marriott hotels by introducing a third-party booking platform.
Garner’s
debut in Scotland. IHG Hotels & Resorts is partnering with Palm Holdings to open the 195-key Garner Hotel Edinburgh - Haymarket, which is the brand’s first hotel in Scotland. It joins Garner’s growing global portfolio of 23 open hotels and 94 in development.
Hilton debuts Canopy in South Africa. Hilton has opened the 154-key Canopy by Hilton Cape Town Longkloof, marking the brand’s debut in South Africa. The property joins Hilton’s seven hotels in South Africa, with three more under development.
