CDL
acquires in London. Singapore-based Copthorne Hotel Holdings, a subsidiary of City Developments
Ltd. (CDL) has acquired the 706-key Holiday Inn London-Kensington High
Street from an undisclosed seller for £280 million ($370 million). The hotel is
adjacent to another CDL hotel, the 833-key Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington.
The hotel had an occupancy rate of over 97% in the first nine months of 2025.
Total revenue in the last 12 months topped £39 million and the hotel is
expected to generate a running yield of over 6%, CDL said.
Fortress
selling 2 in CALA. New
York City-based Fortress Investment Group plans to sell two resorts on St.
Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to Bloomberg. According to the
story, the deal will be financed with municipal bonds and will ultimately allow
the territory to acquire the property. Fortress is selling Frenchman’s Reef —
which includes a 392-key Westin and a 94-key boutique hotel — to an affiliate
of the Arizona-based nonprofit Community Finance Corp. CFC will acquire the
property using proceeds from a roughly $465 million municipal bond sale
scheduled for next month through the Virgin Islands Hotel Development Financing
Corp. According to the story, the offering also includes a $15 million private
placement.
Aimbridge
adds to all-inclusive. Aimbridge Hospitality is adding the 335-key voco Sandpiper All-Inclusive
Resort by IHG to its All-Inclusive Division, which was launched in August.
Located in Port St. Lucie on Florida’s Treasure Coast, the resort is the first
U.S. property in Aimbridge’s all-inclusive portfolio. Owned by Sandpiper Bay
Resort Holdings, led by Feenix Venture Partners and Ghost Tree Partners,
the voco Sandpiper is undergoing a $50 million capital improvement plan and
transitioning to the voco brand. The first phase of the renovation is on
track for an early 2026 completion.
Vastland
$130M loan in Nashville. Nashville-based Vastland Co. has secured a $130 million construction
loan for Voce Hotel & Residences, a 25-story mixed-use development located
in Midtown Nashville. BayBridge Real Estate Capital arranged the loan through
Atlanta-based Peachtree Group. Upon completion, Voce Hotel & Residences
will feature 192 private residences, 114 hotel rooms, 60,000 sq. ft. of
boutique office space and more than 40,000 sq. ft. of amenities, including a
rooftop dining experience.
Rentyl
expands agreement in Orlando. Kissimmee, Florida-based Rentyl Resorts has entered into a
management agreement with Margaritaville Resort Orlando. Rentyl Resorts has
managed the Margaritaville Cottages Orlando since 2018. Under the new deal, the
company will now manage all resort services for both the cottages and the
resort.
Crow,
Hilton extend deal in Dallas. Dallas-based Crow Holdings and Hilton have announced a new
long-term management agreement for the 1,610-key Hilton Anatole in Dallas. The
pair also plans a $100 million in renovations to the hotel’s Atrium Tower
guest rooms, meeting spaces, common areas, and other amenities over the next
several years. The hotel was first developed in 1979 by Trammell Crow. The
renovations will take place through 2028.
Tryst
acquires in Massachusetts. Coral Gables, Florida-based Tryst Hospitality has acquired The Crown
& Anchor in Provincetown, Massachusetts, from an undisclosed seller for an
undisclosed amount. The complex includes a 17-key hotel, six bars, a restaurant
and multiple nightlife and performance venues. As part of the acquisition, the
property’s 17-room hotel will be reintroduced as The Tryst Provincetown,
joining Tryst’s growing portfolio of LGBTQ+ destinations around the world. The
property will be closed seasonally from January through April, then renovated
and reopened for the summer season.
Chable
enters branded residential. Mexico City-based Chable Hotels is expanding into branded residential
real estate with three communities launching by 2027. The developments, located
in Costalegre (Jalisco), Valle de Guadalupe (Baja California) and Yucatan near
Merida, reflect a broader surge in branded residential projects across Mexico
as global luxury players increase investment in the sector. The expansion comes
at a time when Mexico has emerged as one of the most active branded residence
markets in the world, with new residential projects announced or underway from
hospitality brands like Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Rosewood, St.
Regis, Montage and Auberge Resorts Collection, as well as fashion houses
including Armani and Nautica.
Vegas
bounce back? A new
economic study projects that visitation to Las Vegas will bounce back in 2026.
But the city’s top tourism officials are taking nothing for granted as they
grapple with the effects of 2025’s lull and adjust prices to try to lure back
tourists in the new year. The Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER)
at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, projects southern Nevada will host 40.1
million visitors in 2026, about 1 million more (2.4%) than this year. With
another month to go, which includes the National Finals Rodeo and the New
Year’s Eve fireworks celebrations on the Strip and downtown, the report expects
2025’s visitation to be about 39.1 million. Final numbers won’t be available
until February, but that total would represent a 6% decrease from 2024.
Hilton
adds in Kyoto. Hilton is partnering with Brighton Corp. Co., Ltd. to sign its second Curio
Collection by Hilton hotel in Japan. The 160-key Kyoto Brighton Hotel will
convert under Curio Collection by Hilton and is scheduled to open in the winter
of 2028 following renovations and a rebranding. Brighton Corp. currently
operates four hotels and has a long-standing track record in hotel management in Kyoto.
Brighton will continue to manage the hotel.
Design
Hotels expands in APAC. Marriott’s Design Hotels has added more than 14 properties across Asia
Pacific, with the region accounting for a record 28% of the brand’s overall
portfolio global growth in 2025, a first for the brand. The new additions span
six countries, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and return to India.
Design Hotels’ global portfolio has seen 15% growth over the last 12 months,
with key properties joining the brand, including Esperanza Lake Resort,
Lithuania; Stieg’nhaus, Austria; and Voaara, Madagascar, in EMEA. Growth has
also been strong across the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America,
with 11 hotels joining Design. New destinations for the brand include Miami,
Atlanta, Asheville, Capistrano Beach in California, Valle de Guadalupe, two properties
in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Colombia.
LXR to
debut in Greece. Hilton and RMKA Private Co. have partnered to sign the 66-key Sandblu
Santorini, marking the debut of LXR Hotels & Resorts in Greece. The hotel
is scheduled to open for the 2026 summer season. LXR Hotels & Resorts has
nearly 40 properties worldwide.
Pandox
sells in Belgium. Pandox has signed an agreement to sell the 262-key Crowne Plaza Antwerp in
Belgium to an undisclosed buyer for approximately €19 million. The deal
includes both the hotel property and its operating business, with closing
expected in February 2026.
IHG adds
in Malaysia. IHG
Hotels & Resorts is partnering with the Franky Group of Companies to develop the 67-key Mangala Estate Kuantan in Malaysia. The agreement will mark IHG’s
Vignette Collection brand entry into Malaysia. Initially retaining its original
name, the property will join IHG’s system in mid-2026 before being refurbished
and rebranded to Mangala Estate Kuantan, Vignette Collection by IHG in 2027.
IHCL adds
in Meghalaya. Indian
Hotels Co. Ltd. (IHCL) is partnering with the Owning Company to sign a new
Ginger hotel in Shillong, marking the brand’s debut in Meghalaya. IHCL will
have three hotels in Meghalaya, including one under development.
