AWH
acquires in California. New York City-based AWH Partners has acquired the 122-key Hotel Trio
Healdsburg in Sonoma’s wine country from an undisclosed seller for $38 million.
Since opening in 2018, the soft-branded Residence Inn is the only
Marriott-branded property in northern Sonoma and as the second-largest hotel in
Healdsburg. This marks AWH’s first deal for its Strategic Income Fund,
launched in late 2025 and marks the second major acquisition by AWH Partners
since June 2022. Upon closing, the property will be operated by AWH’s wholly
owned subsidiary Spire Hospitality.
New CEO
for Marriott Vacations. Marriott Vacations Worldwide has appointed Matt Avril as CEO. He joined
the company’s board in March 2025. Avril has served as interim president and
CEO since November 2025. The company also announced the appointment of Mike
Flaskey as president and COO, effective immediately. Flaskey has more than 25
years of experience in the vacation ownership and hospitality industries,
including senior roles at Starwood Vacation Ownership and Diamond Resorts
International.
Trinity moves HQ to Miami. Trinity Investments has relocated its headquarters to Miami. Trinity said the new headquarters reflects Trinity’s long-term commitment to Florida as a strategic hub for its business.
ABT
Capital acquires Darwin Estates. London-based ABT Capital has acquired Darwin Escapes, a U.K.-based
holiday park operators, from the Darwin Leisure Property Fund for an
undisclosed amount. ABT Capital has acquired Darwin Escapes’ portfolio of 18
parks, which provides approximately 80,000 holidays per year and employs around
750 people. The acquisition was made through ABT Capital’s Leisure Fund, which
is financed by funds and accounts managed by BlackRock alongside base of institutional
investors. The existing management team and branding will be retained. The
acquisition marks a return to the UK holiday park sector for ABT, which
previously launched and grew Aria Resorts before its sale to CVC Capital
Partners in 2021.
Florida hotel sells. JC Investments FL LLC has acquired the Quality Inn & Suites Kissimmee by the Lake in Florida from an undisclosed seller for an undisclosed price (the news release said the asking price was $10.9 million). DSH Hotel Advisors represented the buyer and seller in the transaction.
Minor
Hotels earnings. Bangkok, Thailand-based Minor Hotels International reported 32% profit growth
for all of 2025 as part of its Q4 earnings. The company reported 4% RevPAR
growth YOY with 3% ADR growth and 1% occupancy growth to 68%. Total system
sales were up 3% YOY while core revenue was down 1% YOY to THB 133.2 billion.
Minor said it enters 2026 with its strongest development pipeline to date,
following a record year of expansion activity in 2025. During the year, the
group signed 40 new hotel projects and master agreements and opened or
rebranded 23 properties.
9 hotels
acquired in France. France-based owner-operator Dunamis Hospitality and French investment firm
Eternam have acquired a portfolio of nine budget hotels (630 rooms) in the
northwest of France, according to HVS. The transaction was structured as a club
deal through a French Professional Private Equity Fund (FPCI) and the
properties are primarily operated under the Ibis Budget and Ibis Styles brands
and located in the Normandy and Hauts-de-France regions. Dunamis and Eternam
plan to renovate the hotels to enhance both the customer experience and energy
performance.
RIU
closing two in CALA for renovations. Mallorca, Spain-based RIU Hotels and Resorts is temporarily
closing two of its Palace-branded properties on Mexico’s Caribbean coast as
part of a broader renovation push in the region. The company has confirmed
scheduled closures this year for both the Riu Palace Peninsula in Cancun and
the Riu Palace Mexico in Playa del Carmen, with each resort set to undergo
significant upgrades before reopening later in the year. The Riu Palace
Peninsula in Cancun is slated to close on April 6 and reopen on July 25. In Playa
del Carmen, the Riu Palace Mexico is scheduled to close on May 4 and reopen on
September 5.
IHCL adds
in Bengaluru. The
Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (IHCL) is partnering with Bengaluru-based BABA
Developers Private Ltd. to sign the 115-key SeleQtions hotel in Devanahalli,
Bengaluru, a conversion of a standalone resort that will eventually add five
more rooms to the property. With this addition, IHCL will have 20 hotels in
Bengaluru, including 11 under development.
BWH adds
in India. BWH Hotels
has opened the 26-key Best Western Prince Bijnor, marking the entry of the
first international hotel brand in Bijnor, India. The opening represents BWH
Hotels’ fourth Best Western property in Uttar Pradesh and the company has seven
additional hotels under development in the state.
AAHOA partners with Inspire Brands. AAHOA (Asian American Hotel Owners Association) has added Inspire Brands as its newest Club Blue partner, which is the highest level of partnership in AAHOA's industry partner program. Inspire is a multi-brand restaurant company with a portfolio of more than 33,000 Arby's, Baskin-Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin', Jimmy John's and SONIC locations worldwide.
