Deal with African Bush Camps to drive increased room nights through Viceroy’s
distribution channels.
NEW YORK CITY – Viceroy Hotels, through a sales and marketing
affiliation agreement, is expanding into Africa with three luxury safari lodges
across Zambia and Botswana.
The new lodges – Thorntree River Lodge in Mosi-oa-Tunya
National Park, Zambia; Lolebezi in Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia; and Atzaró
Okavango Camp in the Okavango Delta, Botswana, are managed by Beks Ndlovu’s luxury
safari operator, African Bush Camps. African Bush Camps also owns Thorntree and
Lolebezi.
The properties are all open and they are also live on the Viceroy
branded website.
Mark Keiser, president of development for Viceroy told Hotel
Investment Today that the opportunity that ABC saw was to increase the
awareness of these properties through the affiliation with Viceroy and to drive
increased room nights through Viceroy’s distribution channels in addition to
the legacy distribution partnerships that ABC has long established.
Arash Azarbarzin, CEO of Viceroy Hotels & Residences,
added, “Expanding into Africa is a defining milestone in Viceroy’s continued
global growth. Like all Viceroy Hotels, each African lodge is a gateway that
connects you to the essence of the destination, its people, landscape, and
culture. We’re inviting travelers to discover Africa in a way that truly moves
them, where every moment offers depth, beauty, and a sense of wonder.”
The Viceroy brand, owned by Highgate, currently has hotels and
residences in Algarve, Portugal; Los Cabos, Mexico; Snowmass, Colorado; and St.
Lucia, West Indies. It has hotels in Riviera Maya, Mexico; Kopaonik, Serbia;
