Sage
partners with CL Hotels. Sage
Hospitality Group, Denver, is expanding its footprint in California and Florida
as a result of a new partnership with Miami-based CL Hotels to take management
of three lifestyle hotels: Hotel La Jolla in San Diego, The Coachman Hotel in Lake
Tahoe, California, and Circa 39 Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. The deal marks
the beginning of a long-term collaboration between the two organizations. Sage
will oversee all operations at three hotels, with support from Sage Restaurant
Concepts on food and beverage operations at Hotel La Jolla and The Coachman
Hotel.
$86M
refinance in Arizona. HCW Development has secured a $86 million loan to refinance the 265-key Caesars Republic Scottsdale, a Hilton Hotel, a newly constructed hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona. The hotel opened in October 2024 and is the first non-gaming
hotel by Caesars Entertainment in the U.S. Walker & Dunlop arranged the financing with an undisclosed regional bank.
Everhome
Suites growth. Choice Hotel International is opening six midscale extended-stay brand Everhome Suites and breaking ground on properties in Texas, Oregon, and Ohio. Everhome Suites in Bastrop, Waco, Brownsville
and El Paso in Texas have already opened this year, with another in Amarillo scheduled to open in June and one in Georgetown in September 2026. A property in Yuma, Arizona, is scheduled to open in July. Choice also has groundbreakings in Salem, Oregon,
which is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2026, and in Dayton, Ohio, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027. Choice now has 14 Everhome Suites open, 19 under construction and more than 60 in the pipeline. The brand
is on track to have nearly 25 hotels open by the end of the year.
Massachusetts
hotel sells. New York City-based Dune Real Estate Partners has sold the 121-key Freepoint Hotel Cambridge, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Newton, Massachusetts-based JNR Management for an undisclosed amount. Berkadia
facilitated the transaction.
A-1 adds
in Washington. Kennewick, Washington-based A-1 Hospitality Group is developing a new 163-key AC Hotels by Marriott near Kennewick’s Three Rivers Convention Center. A-1 Hospitality Group will manage the hotel.
Regent
Kyoto groundbreaking. IHG Hotels & Resorts and Tokyo-based GI Capital Management have broken ground on the Regent Kyoto in Japan, which is scheduled to open in 2028. Regent joined IHG’s portfolio of brands in 2018 and IHG has 54 hotels in operation
in Japan across 10 brands, with 17 hotels in the pipeline.
Hyatt
adds first Destination in Southeast Asia. Hyatt Hotels Corp. has entered into a franchise agreement with PT Lombok Torok Developments for Samara Lombok, which will be the first Destination by Hyatt brand in Southeast Asia. The
integrated development in south Lombok will join Hyatt’s portfolio of 15 properties in Indonesia across seven brands. Construction is underway on the 249-key hotel, which is scheduled to open in 2027.
Hilton
adds in Tobago. Hilton is expanding its Caribbean footprint by signing the Elephant Tree Resort and Villas Tobago, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The property, with 40 guest rooms and 126 fully furnished residences, is scheduled to open in 2028
and will be operated by Hotel Equities. HE recently appointed industry veteran
Juan Corvinos as president of its newly launched Caribbean & Latin America (CALA) division.
InterContinental to debut in Ecuador. InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, announced a new property in Guayaquil, marking its first destination in Ecuador. Developed in partnership with developer BPO Consulting,
the 101-key InterContinental Guayaquil is scheduled to open in 2027. InterContinental currently has 229 open and 104 pipeline hotels globally.
IHCL adds
lodges in Africa. Indian Hotels Co. Ltd. (IHCL) has signed three luxury wildlife lodges under its Taj brand in South Africa’s Balule Game Reserve, part of the Kruger National Park. This move marks IHCL’s debut into South Africa’s luxury wildlife hospitality
segment. The new lodges: the 30-key Taj Lion Kings Hilltop Tented Camp, the 6-key Taj Lion Kings Bush Lodge and the 6-key Taj Lion Kings River Lodge (six keys) offer immersive safari experiences in the African wilderness.
