Global hotelier leaves Raffles London to fill vacant chair at the luxury brand with 12 properties worldwide.
LONDON – The luxury Dorchester Collection has appointed
decorated hotelier Philippe Leboeuf as chief executive officer, effective June
2025. He replaces Eugenio Pirri, who departed last November.
Leboeuf will oversee the global group of 12 hotels based in London, which
includes the Dorchester and Coworth Park in the U.K., the Beverley Hills hotel
in California, and Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris. Its next opening is
scheduled for 2028 with The Alba in Dubai. The collection has been long owned by the Brunei Investment Agency, an arm of the Ministry of Finance of Brunei.
Leboeuf told Hotel Investment Today that he took the job because of what he called “a unique opportunity at a collection that embraces the same DNA I do – putting people first.”
Leboeuf most recently opened the high-profile Raffles in
London. He has been director general of Concorde Hotels, owned by Taittinger,
where he oversaw 19 owned and 70 affiliated hotels. Additionally, he was a
board director of Leading Hotels of the World and has held many other senior
leadership positions such as regional vice president of operations for Mandarin
Oriental Hotel Group, vice president operations for Rosewood and general
manager of Claridge’s in London.
“Keeping the Dorchester Collection renowned culture and
values alive was key in the selection of Philippe as CEO,” said former Dorchester
CEO and now President Christopher Cowdray. “Driven by purpose and
excellence, he is highly respected globally by many stakeholders including
owners, the travel trade, the media and partners, and especially employees and
guests.”
Leboeuf said in the press release, “As Dorchester Collection
hotels write the history of their destinations and have a special alchemy that
brings them together, I’m greatly looking forward to taking the company legacy
and storied heritage to the next stage.”
