Tristan
secures €300M loan for easyHotel. London-based Tristan Capital Partners has secured a €300 million loan to support its recent acquisition of easyHotel, a pan-European budget hotel operator. London-based KKR provided the funding. Tristan Capital Partners
acquired easyHotel in June 2025 through its latest fund, EPISO 6, in a transaction valued at more than €400 million. The whole loan financing is secured by a diversified portfolio of 48 owned,
leased, and franchised hotels, which includes 4,700 rooms across the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, Hungary and Bulgaria.
KPC
secures $195M loan in LA. Corona, California-based KPC Development has secured a $195 million financing package for the 300-key Kali Hotel and Rooftop, which is adjacent to SoFi Stadium in the Hollywood Park development in Los Angeles, according to
Commercial Observer. Bank of America provided the loan.
First
Okura resort in Japan. Tokyo-based Hotel Okura Co. Ltd. said the 58-key The Okura Resort Hakone Gora, the first Okura Resort property in Japan, will open in 2029. The hotel is a collaboration with Nishimatsu Construction Co., Ltd., and the new property
will be located in the hot spring destination of Hakone. An operational management agreement was signed on July 11, under which Nishimatsu Construction will develop and own the property, with Hotel Okura managing the hotel under The Okura Resort brand.
Okura Nikko Hotel Management Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hotel Okura, operates 79 properties (53 in Japan and 26 overseas) and 23,605 rooms under three hotel groups: Okura Hotels & Resorts, Nikko Hotels International and Hotel JAL City.
Refi in Boca Raton. Chicago-based BDT and MSD are refinancing The Boca Raton for the third time since acquiring the property in 2019, according to a note from Michael Bellisario, analyst for R.W. Baird. The 1,014-key resort and private club was
acquired in 2019, with a new $1.15 billion CMBS loan. This loan’s proceeds will repay a $1 billion 2024-vintage CMBS loan and will return approximately $138 million of equity. Bellisario said the five-year fully extended loan is expected to price
at SOFR+205 bps. Almost $390 million has been invested by ownership since the acquisition, with another $91 million expected to be spent in the coming years.
Chedi names new CEO. Dubai-based Chedi Hospitality has named Stephan Schupbach as president and group CEO. With more than three decades of experience in luxury hospitality, Schupbach has held senior leadership roles across internationally recognized hotel
groups throughout Europe, the U.S., the Middle East, and Asia. In his expanded capacity, he will oversee several strategic initiatives that support Chedi’s expansion plans. This includes leading the launch of a new Chedi boutique brand. He will also
drive the creation of a dedicated F&B business vertical.
Whitbread acquires in London. Whitbread has made a freehold hotel acquisition in Central London for its hub by Premier Inn brand. Whitbread has acquired Victory House from a private overseas investor for an undisclosed sum. Whitbread intends
to convert the 45,000 sq. ft. office building, which is currently occupied until spring 2026, into a hub by Premier Inn hotel with around 200 rooms, subject to planning.
Columbia
adds in Wisconsin. Seattle-based Columbia Hospitality has added the Henry Christopher Hotel in Plymouth, Wisconsin, to its management portfolio. Construction of the property is underway inside the newly restored H.C. Laack Block building, with the
hotel expected to open in 2027. The Gentine Family will own the hotel.
Stake of
Ritz-Carlton Perth sells. AMTD Group Inc., AMTD IDEA Group and France-based The Generation Essentials Group (TGE), a subsidiary of AMTD Digital Inc., announce jointly that TGE has entered into a sales and purchasing agreement (SPA) with London-based
FEC Holdings and FEC Hotel, which have agreed conditionally to sell a 50% stake in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Perth, Australia. The transaction will take place by way of the acquisition of the sale shares and the assignment of the sale loan, at an
aggregate consideration of A$100 million (approximately $66.4 million), subject to the terms and conditions of the SPA. With a portfolio that includes hotel properties such as the iclub AMTD Sheung Wan Hotel in Hong Kong, Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore,
as well as recently announced acquisitions in New York, London, and Malaysia, the addition of The Ritz-Carlton, Perth, further strengthens TGE's global hospitality portfolio. The Ritz-Carlton, Perth, is the 100th Ritz-Carlton property globally.
IHG adds
in Saudi Arabia. IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with an investment fund managed by Jeddah, Saudi Arabia-based SEDCO Capital to launch the 150-key Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The lifestyle hotel marks the
first collaboration between IHG and the Saudi real estate investment fund. Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah will form a central component of the Grand Square mixed-use development on King Abdulaziz Road in Jeddah. The project is being developed through
a strategic partnership via the fund, which brings together Ajdan Real Estate Development Co., MASIC Investment Co., and SEDCO Capital. IHG currently operates 46 hotels across six brands in Saudi Arabia, with 60 hotels in the development pipeline
set to open within the next three to five years.
