Among
the noteworthy deals of the past week was Blackstone’s acquisition of the Hyatt
Regency Clearwater in Florida from Westmont Hospitality Group for $137 million.
CLEARWATER
BEACH, Florida — Last week, Blackstone closed on an acquisition of the 286-key
Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa from Houston-based Westmont
Hospitality Group for $137 million, in a deal first reported the previous
month.
The prices
of furniture, fixtures and equipment aren’t usually included in the property
sale record, and the total sales price is likely higher than what’s publicly
available, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. Bloomberg reported in
August that the sale could total $200 million.
Westmont
paid about $120.5 million for the hotel in 2016. With 37 fewer rooms, the price
per key at the time was $483,936.
