Among the noteworthy deals of the past week was Grupotel
Hotels & Resorts acquisition of the Hotel Mayorazgo in Madrid.
GLOBAL REPORT — After 65 years as owner, the Salazar Gordon
family sold the independent 200-room Hotel Mayorazgo in Madrid for an undisclosed price. The
hotel was listed for sale last year for €60 million, or €300,000 per room.
With this purchase, Grupotel increases the number of its
owned hotels to a 46 with 36 in the Balearic Islands (25 in Mallorca, seven in
Menorca and four in Ibiza), seven in Canary Islands (five in Gran Canaria and
two in Lanzarote), two in Barcelona and one in Madrid.
