noteworthy deals of the past week was the Shayher Group’s acquisition of the 245-key
The Park Hyatt in Melbourne, Australia, from Fu Wah International.
MELBOURNE,
Australia – Brisbane, Australia-based Shayher Group has acquired 245-key The
Park Hyatt in Melbourne, Australia, from Beijing-based Fu Wah International for
a reported AU$200 million.
JLL
represented the seller in the transaction and the sale is subject to a
management agreement with Hyatt.
Fu Wah Group
acquired the hotel in 2014 for approximately AU$135 million from
Singapore-based sovereign fund GIC, equating to approximately AU$563,000 per
key.
The hotel
sale represents the priciest commercial real estate transaction in Melbourne so
far in 2025, according to HVS.
