Fajardo talks about his first impressions of the hotel business and his 60-year-old management company's plans to double its size in four years.
CORAL GABLES, Florida – The new CEO of Bogota, Colombia-based
GHL Hoteles Andrés Fajardo says the current volatile economic climate is providing
an opportunity to grow their management business.
With 63 hotels today, Fajardo said he wants to double the
size of the company in four years and reach 14,000 rooms. To do that, he
expects to acquire other operators in the region and grow organically from Guatemala
to down to Chile to become the dominant player in Latin America.
He said GHL also wants to expand into Mexico, again via partnerships
and acquisitions, and hopes to have a deal or two done before the end of 2025.
