Starwood Hotels 2.0 is a year old. CEO Raul Leal talks about
what’s ahead in 2026.
LOS ANGELES – Starwood Hotels CEO Raul Leal says his luxury hotels
are in a good place revenue-wise, earning higher average rates with a big focus
on TRevPar and activations to drive local F&B business.
He said Starwood opened five hotels in 2025 and their top
priority is getting properties open next in Tokyo, Austin, Adelaide and the
second Baccarat in Rome.
Leal added that 2026 continues the evolution of creating
targeted groups of unique hotels, again hinting that a potential acquisition is
in the works – but not a 500-hotel deal. He said Starwood has another brand in their
pocket but will remain focused on expanding the three brands they have.
